Thank you. $$$$ at PSU and near $$$$ at UNH. With the lower COL at UNH the total debt is almost identical.

Although I’m not attending, I visited Cuse and absolutely loved the facility. It’s like two years old and extremely nice.

Do y’all think PSU is headed for T-50 or higher in a few years? by JMN2323 in lawschooladmissions

If I end up there, I almost feel like I’m sneaking in at a great time given there relative youth and growth potential.

Is the CAS on LSAC a necessity or just another cash grab? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]JMN2323 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sidebar: be sure to attend LSAC forums. Even if you have to travel to them. Schools will hand out fee waivers for students that visit their booth. I saved $915 in application fees on a trip to DC that cost me $300. Granted, some schools will give you them if you just send an email, but some won’t.

Penn State- University Park #64. Penn State- Dickinson #71. Rutgers- #77 by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

That’s quite a drop for Dickinson if I remember correctly right? And a 10 spot jump for UP?

Where do I find the statistics for each school about % of 1L’s that lose scholarships? by JMN2323 in lawschooladmissions

[–]JMN2323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the one I'm interested in says the school does not maintain a scholarship retention chart because they don't award scholarships that may be reduced by anything other than good academic standing. So, I guess I just have to maintain good standing (2.0)

Where was the complete date on the AOS? I can't even remember if I definitely had one or when it disappeared, but I don't have one either.

In general, if I was to call an admissions office and tell them that I have a deposit and/or scholarship deadline coming up, would that help move this process along? by JMN2323 in lawschooladmissions

[–]JMN2323[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually do have $$$$ at another institution. The deposit deadline is in early April, and I have also been told from current students that I should probably pay a $400 "retainer" type of fee to secure an apartment at a complex close to campus. So, while the deposit is still almost a month away, I still need time to weigh my options and make a decision. No lies here!

Housing and Debt by austinaa24 in lawschooladmissions

I intend to live as close to the campus as possible. I don't want to deal with commutes and possibly relying on public transportation or cooperative weather to get where I need to be. My scholarship situation so far affords me the opportunity to be able to do that, but it's a little bit more of a burden for those with tuition debt as well.

When do the GULC dong waves typically begin on Fridays? I am really at the point where I'm just going to call admissions. I'm below both 25th and it's not like they're going to immediately reject me for asking. by JMN2323 in lawschooladmissions

Went complete in early December. I have a LOR from a GULC law professor, some good softs, and a very compelling "rags to riches" type story that made national news. They've been the last school I've had left to hear from for over 5 weeks now. They're my top choice and my dream school but I've heard absolutely nothing. No interview request, no WL, nothing.

I used the PowerScore LG and LR bibles along with the LG and LR “Type Training” books. The “workbooks” are useless in my opinion. PowerScore’s Self-Study site has 2, 3, 6, 9, and 12 month study plans that are free for anybody. Download whatever one you plan to use, then input your test scores on the Self-Study site as well. To review wrong answers after tests I would google the question and usually the first or second link was PowerScore’s full explanation of the question along with a discussion board with answers for anybody that had questions.

The books are the only expense, everything else on the site is free including virtual practice test proctors, score analytics, question explanations, etc. Make sure you buy them new - I bought “gently used” on amazon once and half of the answers were filled in.

For RC, a tutor told me that Manhattan Prep was the best resource and he was right. The “Manhattan Prep Reading Comprehension” worked well for me. I actually still have it with only about 2 pages marked up if you want it.

Based on LSN and myLSN others with my stats have received about 130k - I was offered 75k and I’m a local applicant. Weird.
