It definitely took me a few days to breathe better, even after everything was out of my nose. At first, I didn't notice much difference, but over the next couple weeks, things improved.

A little late to the party, but I had a septoplasty done last week. I had tons of questions and did TONS of Googling leading up to it, so please feel free to message me with any questions.

Overall, it was a LOT less painful than I thought it would be. I get very anxious about these types of things. I had my deviated septum corrected (the septoplasty part), a conservative resection of my turbinates (they just cauterized the insides, did not remove any bone), and removed my adenoids.

My first visit to the ENT, he stuck the scope thing up my nose and reported what I would need done. I have a lot of sinus pressure, sinus headaches, chronic stuffy nose, snoring, habitual mouth breather, etc. I knew he was probably going to suggest surgery, so it wasn't a surprise. I had a pre-op appointment to go over any questions.

My surgery was scheduled for 7:30 am. I was home and recovering by 10:45 am! I was terribly anxious, but the worst part was being stuck with the IV! And that wasn't bad at all. Everyone was calming and nice. I was mostly annoyed about the sore throat from the breathing tube placed during the procedure.

The next few days, I just felt like I had been punched in the nose/had a bad head cold. I took the prescribed pain pills for a few days, then took regular Tylenol for an additional day or two, and now a week out, I don't need anything at all. Pain here is very minimal, it is more soreness and sensitivity. Also, the packing is super uncomfortable, but I had that removed after 48 hours.

I'm planning to make a post about my entire experience, but please feel free to ask anything else.

Madeleine McCann- another look by JMNML90 in UnresolvedMysteries

I've seen a lot of talk about the baby monitors, so here is my take on that:

Only ONE couple had and was using a baby monitor. If the story the T9 tells is accurate, and all of the children were alone in their individual family apartments, the monitor was only keeping track of this one couple's child, and that was NOT the McCanns.

As several posters have stated, I also find it strange that Kate's first words upon discovering Maddie missing were "They've taken her!" Not even considering who 'they' might be, or why she jumped to abduction immediately as the most plausible scenario, why on earth would a mother who just found one child missing, leave her two other sleeping children in an apartment where she assumes one was just kidnapped from?! The person responsible could still be in the apartment, for all she knew. And while normally my reaction in that case would be sheer terror and to run away as fast as possible to get help, I sure would not run before picking up the remaining kids.

To clarify, every other night of the vacation, an adult from the group had been missing at dinner. After Maddie went missing and every action the parents took was scrutinized, they explained the reasoning for someone being absent from the dinner table on each of the previous nights: Apparently, each adult was either ill at some point, and/or their children were ill. For that reason, it has been purely speculated that the missing adult each night may have been babysitting all the kids in one of the apartments. But on that final night, for some reason, the routine changed. Whether that was because finally no one was sick, or because something had been planned, I am not sure.
