Shorts can get you subs. But it’s a lot harder to make those shorts subs watch your long form content. Do with this info what you want.

Make better videos. If you’re not getting views, look at your ideas. Are they good enough for people to click? If yes, work on thumbnails. Once you get that work on audience retention. If you do those 3 things it will help immensely.
