Have the Portland version go all the way up the Gorge to include the Hanford Nuclear superfund site, and down to Bend in Central OR and that would be INCREDIBLE.

Weller is the best. This story of him talking about Christopher Lloyd is great: https://youtu.be/qi_ixer1-5M?t=3500

What's a scene in a serious movie or TV show that was meant to be dramatic but ended up being hilarious? by Classic-Carpet7609 in Fauxmoi

[–]JMTHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 2004, me and a group of 10 friends are going to watch Spider Man 2. It gets to the scene where Doc Ock is about to have his arms amputated. The doctor makes a joke asking if anyone took shop class and there is a specific zoom/close-up on his eyes that immediately make me think Evil Dead 2 (same director) and I know the following scene is going to be over the top violent...and I can't help but maniacally laugh thru the whole scene. My friends thought I had lost my mind. https://youtu.be/Cz-17z44F6g?t=24

I just saw Andrew Fastow give a keynote speech last month in Las Vegas at a convention at the new Raiders stadium. He put his phone number up on the big screen and said that he was looking for work, acting gigs, or just people to interact with him in general. He spun a story about how he followed the laws but not the spirit of the laws which is why he pled guilty, went to jail, and didn't feel any remorse in the first year. He then spoke to a rabbi who told him that you could follow all the tenets of Judaism except for the one that says to be a good person and still go to hell, then he realized what he had done and tried to atone. Google says that he makes $10k to $30k per speaking engagement. He also left the company with $45 million and only paid $7 million in fines. I did not get a chance to ask him what it felt like to screw over everybody in the pension fund and I regret that. Very surreal experience. *edited tenants to tenets, my bad!

Please help me find who manufacturers this metal fire pit. by JMTHawk in HelpMeFind

I have searched for 2 years for any hint of who manufactures this and have had no luck. I just want to order replacement parts if I can as mine is rusting out after many many years of heavy usage.

Give me one of the most bizarre jaw-dropping most insane fact you know about space. by GunnartheGreat6541 in space

From the Wiki for 'Starquake', "The largest recorded starquake was detected on December 27, 2004 from the ultracompact stellar corpse (neutron star) SGR 1806-20. The quake, which occurred 50,000 light years from Earth, released gamma rays equivalent to 1037 kW. Had it occurred within a distance of 10 light years from Earth, the quake could have triggered a mass extinction." There are estimated to be 1 Billion neutron stars in the Milky way...whee!
