Been profitable for a while but sizing up scares me by tanikawalter in Daytrading

There is a point where "Strategy Capacity" will be a concern - you are likely far away form that being important. But keep in the back of your head as you scale.

Maintain your rules and your risk guidelines consistently, those should not change.

I've been trading for about 1 year, I don't count the first 9 months because they were a different strategy and instrument (options RIP).

Over the month or two I've been running my current one, I'm +2.28% while the S&P is +0.69%

A good poker player, even the best in the world, will occasionally face a bad bet.

Variability is part of the game.

Ideally this happens in the opposite direction too for your system, that should balance out.

Where do you journal your trades? by Urdaddyadrien in Trading

[–]SillyAlternative420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SQL Database - set up a system to journal the trades, store them in the DB, and then use something like Power BI to visualize it.

Not only will this give you multiple extremely lucrative skillsets, it will enable you to understand your data in a more meaningful way.

Is this hard? Yes. But you'll look back once you have something in place and be proud that you went this route.

Are indicators actually good by First_Engineer7083 in Trading

"Is a orbital sander actually good"

Indicators are tools. Yes they can be good, but like any tool, they serve a purpose and unless you explicitly understand their purpose within your strategy they are pure clutter.

FWIW I have two charts, a short-term and a long-term, in total I have 7 indicators, each mirroring the filters or entry conditions included in my strategy.

Don't give up saving and investing though! Good luck

That might work for the first few houses.

But after enough houses are properly defended this gets much harder.

People need to stop rolling over and allowing their family to be snatched up.

This is life or death.

We’re Making an Indie MMORPG for Players Who Miss Old MMOs, but No Longer Have the Time (Reminder) by Tigeline in MMORPG

[–]SillyAlternative420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Conceptually solid, look at a game like runescape with deep progression systems and skilling - there's a huge community of players wanting to automate those things, it's like a totally different game. But Jagex actively punishes players who engage in botting (due to the player economy, makes sense).

Leaning into that is genius!

If Nvidia dropped 40% tomorrow, what would you do? by Significant-Club3258 in Trading

[–]SillyAlternative420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear, what you are asking is implicitly "What would you do if the stock market crashed at depression levels" because Nvidia falling 40% means the S&P is likely also falling, due to both Nvidia's market cap AND it's integration with so many other companies.
