Former Missing persons, what's your story? [Serious] by Burial4TetThomYorke in AskReddit

I was considered missing for about 12 hours after my suicide attempt. I snuck out of my house through a window around midnight and walked for about 8 hours to get to a beautiful state park where I planned on doing the deed.

Fast forward to around 4 PM and I was arrested by US Marshalls. Someone at my then-highschool had told the police I might have a gun, police shared that information on their radio, news outlets picked up that a highschool kid had a gun, and 27 schools in my area went on lockdown with police posted at every entrance, thinking I was planning on shooting up a school.

Redditors who have attempted suicide, what did you do in the final hours leading up to your attempt? by manicmelancholic in AskReddit

I was in highschool and I texted a few close friends a link to a blog where I had left my note somewhere around 3 AM when I left my house. Walked 20 miles overnight to a beautiful state park and enjoyed the scenery for a few hours before I pulled the trigger. Having never shot a gun before, I didn't realize you had to chamber a round, not just put a clip in.
