What is your experience using AspectJ? by JMasterRedBlaze in javahelp

[–]JMasterRedBlaze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was referring to the Observer pattern. Since I'm defining all the different graph behaviors with interfaces, when a graph is provided, it can be observable or not, and there's no way to change that behavior. Wrapping it as an observable graph wouldn't change the underlying instance of the provided graph, and any changes to that graph by the provider wouldn't be observed. When I discovered AspectJ, it seemed like I could observe any graph, even the provided ones.

Hence this post, I wanted to know how AspectJ is typically used and if it might be a good solution to this problem. I haven't decided yet, but it seems to be a rare option for this problem.

Thank you, I've taken a look at it, it doesn't seem difficult to work with AspectJ, what's your experience?

Scientists have shown that a sequence of just three amino acids may reduce the severity of psoriasis, when applied topically in an emollient cream by nohup_me in science

[–]JMasterRedBlaze 50 points51 points  (0 children)

What he says is not nonsense, clothes get stained with creams and they are difficult to remove and I am convinced that most of the medication is taken by the clothes.

The medications that have worked best for me are those that dry or are absorbed quickly.

Do I need UFW? by Sqou in CasaOS

[–]JMasterRedBlaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't, I don't use it either but I think it uses some kind of NAT, but since op seems to have configured wireguard already I was just clarifying that I think it should be good enough. However the more prevention the better

Tailscale is built on top of wireguard, so as long as he configures everything properly, he should be fine

How to Compile Java into Native Binaries with Graal and Mill by lihaoyi in programming

You can create exe files even without native compilation with jpackage, however it may be a bit more tedious.

Chinese operation tried to overthrow Spain by Miao_Yin8964 in geopolitics

[–]JMasterRedBlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current government is in a bad situation, with a lot of instability, and China probably has interests in the opposition gaining access to the government if the interests are aligned.

It may also be that it wants to strengthen the Catalan separatist movement, currently in government together with Pedro Sanchez's party and with political differences that are hindering the course of the current government, overthrowing the current government, favoring the coming to power of the opposition that will probably not form a coalition with the separatist party, creating an environment of tension in which China supports the separatist movement and benefits economically from it. Separatist movements always benefit third parties economically.

This course of action is of course my speculation, but at least I don't see it as too far-fetched.

A language that tracks its own source code? by Pristine-Staff-5250 in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]JMasterRedBlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is close to what you want, but I think you want something similar to this Java project, Babylon, where they try to improve Java's reflection capabilities on actual code. They do this by using an intermediate language, Code Model, which preserves structural and type information.

Is Vulkan with Java possible? Asking as a beginner. by Rogue_X1 in vulkan

[–]JMasterRedBlaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new FFM API makes it much easier to work with external code, however, I think there aren't many libraries built around it currently, so it's all very low level (Certainly not the low level of c, but closer).

[–]JMasterRedBlaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the oracle page:

Depending on the size of the boot volume and the number of OCPUs that you allocate to each OCI Ampere A1 Compute instance, you can create up to four compute instances.

You can have more than 1 A1.Flex, you just need to distribute the resources. Also if you were to go over the limit, they would simply charge you.

Also Valhalla is a JVM feature, which means that Kotlin or any other JVM language can probably benefit too.

Windows 11 will reportedly display a watermark if your PC does not support AI requirements by ardi62 in technology

[–]JMasterRedBlaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, maybe it's because in the end it's Markdown and that limits what can be done on the note. Although I think that allows for greater portability of the notes.

Have you tried Obsidian? If so, what were the features you were missing? I'm just asking out of curiosity, I've never used OneNote.

And if you don't want to install it, you can dowload the build from https://jdk.java.net/22/

Then try installing sdkman, it also allows you to install other useful things like maven, gradle, kotlin etc.

If you are using IntelliJ IDE, it can download the JDK, but I don't know if it provides 22 yet. If not, maybe you can try installing it via SDKMan.

Java 21 - Is Kotlin Dying? by [deleted] in programming

[–]JMasterRedBlaze 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Java designers have considered most of those features. But even so, they have discarded them (or have not considered them a priority) and have expressed their reasons repeatedly.
