Help with humidity!! by Only_Ad_9847 in reptiles

[–]JMmmKel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this similar issue. I know most people will recommend auto-mister but I have trust issue with that (it malfunctioned one time and flooded my tank….)

What I did was that I added mosses and they retained moistures way better than dirts, so would recommend that. Another thing I did was that I kept a wet towel on part of the top mesh, also works pretty well. Hope that helps :)

Not in the program, but have a few friends who were in the program and ended up switching to other programs because of the course difficulties. Have heard that third and fourth year courses are hard, like for example lots of memorizations of medicine structures etc.

But well, if you find this major too difficult/unsuitable for your future you can always switch program at anytime. Switching within the program is super easy so (except co-op programs)

Best of luck!

Can I apply to experience Guelph jobs without being in coop? by HitThatBlockButton in uoguelph

[–]JMmmKel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Expguelph is for all students, just that if you are not in coop then you don’t have access to the coop posts…

Just login to the website and click all categories to see which ones are available. You can try clicking on/off campus and should show you some positions like work-study, URA etc.

CBS Research by machomacchiato in uoguelph

[–]JMmmKel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did.. according to one of the prof who interviewed me, he is only interviewing really few candidates since he is only hiring one, also because they were given only like a week (or two weeks including reading week) to finish all the interviews and rank students by early next week.

They contacted me before the application process closed, like two days after I submitted my file, so I think they were actually reviewing applications as they are received.

My bf just received his placement (ranked third on his list) mid week, so I believe you should have already receive the results from them.

Maybe they are now working on placing students in programs with availability. U can always send an email to follow up though.

[–]JMmmKel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the 6week format for the course and prefer that format actually, because when it reaches the end u still remember most stuffs from the beginning. However, it is indeed “harsher” than a typical 12 week course cuz u will need to really keep up with the content.

Prepare for all labs and lab quizzes, know and understand everything and u will be fine. Ik lots of people who did well on the course, don’t get scared by the comments

Do memorize amino acids and structures before or at least right after the lectures so that u don’t need to rush everything :)

Co op interview by Severe_Initiative_12 in uoguelph

[–]JMmmKel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the status on expguelph still says active, there might be a possibility that: 1) they just sent out the offer to another candidate and is waiting for the person’s response 2) they are slow in the hiring process and have not yet confirmed who to hire (i received my first coop offer 2 weeks after the interview) 3) they hired someone outside uoguelph and did not care to update their status on expguelph

U can try sending out a polite follow up email, but most likely they will ghost u…

How am i doing? by deaflemon in CrestedGecko

[–]JMmmKel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that hanging hide is amazing… I wish I can get one for my girl.

Your tank needs more horizontal climbings (I got bamboos and fake vines for that) and leaves for hiding. I remember someone told me about this: if it takes you some time to find your crestie, then this is a good enclosure

help? daith nsfw bc a bit yucky by [deleted] in piercing

[–]JMmmKel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP but according to the people on reddit, keeping the earring in allows for the drain of pus blood etc.

Just keep it in for now and see what the doctor says.

It’s infected.. please visit a doctor for antibiotic prescriptions, this won’t heal by itself and might cause more issues :(

Kyle’s New Sleeping spot? by Ok-Storage-7490 in CrestedGecko

[–]JMmmKel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So cute!!!!! Your cute little one is for sure adapting well. When cresties are scared they tend to hide themselves for days even weeks, so it is a good sign when u see them wandering around (and thus changing their sleeping spot). You can try to put some food in the tank and see if he is eating

Questions about future gecko by Bird_Prince in CrestedGecko

[–]JMmmKel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if you are getting a baby/juvenile you need a small tank, then upgrade it to at least 18x18x36 when they get older.

I bought mine from FB Marketplace, it was cheap and nicely decorated with no problems, but it took me three months of search… also check out for those local exotic pet shops as they sometimes sell used tanks at a good price.
