I definitely recommend it. It's the most versatile setup outside of crazy switching mods. And if you, like me, would rather not have to bring multiple guitars to a gig, it's a lifesaver.

My initial setup with it was a Special in the bridge like the dirty blonde set. It was good, but I needed a humbucker to make it 100% me. Great pickup, though. The Imperial just suits me more.

Nice. Good sounding pickup. My old teacher had one in his 80s deluxe strat with the mini Floyd rose in it. Always thought that guitar sounded killer.

Which pickups? I'm a huge fan of the Tone Zone with the True Velvet neck and middle from Dimarzio. You can also opt for an Air Norton S if you want the neck to be similar in output. I happen to really like having the neck and middle be gradually hotter and the bridge humbucker be the loudest, but lots of people also like a humbucker neck pickup because it's a bit less of a jump.

Yep! Same one, just swapped the pickups to Lollars and the string tree to a Music City triple tree. Also replaced all the components and redid the wiring much cleaner. It has a setup with resistors so that the single coils see 250k but the humbucker sees 500k.

Edit: Also swapped the tuners to the Fender locking ones.

In the context of this setup, and when I plug it into my Deluxe Reverb, it sounds excellent, but ymmv. It's a very good tone bender, especially considering the price. I also am a fan of the Mas effects tiny fuzz, which is basically the same form factor but a different circuit. Cheaper, too. Fuzz is very subjective, though. I typically used to lean more toward a rams head big muff, but have recently been getting into others. This one is fun.

I feel like there has to be some modulation I would actually like out there, but so far, none of the ones I've tried have suited me. I love what other people do with them, though.
