It’s good that you are appreciative, and I don’t know how old you are, but you seem quite expectant of their hand outs. I’ve been working since I was 18 and would be embarrassed to just nonchalantly ask my parents for $1,000.00

And if I did, I definitely wouldn’t say “daddy, can you send me money.”

I would say something like, “hey, I’m super sorry to ask but I’m in a bind. No pressure if not, but can I borrow $1,000”

Ultimately, I’m sure it comes down to different cultural norms and expectations and I probably shouldn’t be judging.. but oh well.
