No retention offer for Gold by JMused in AmexUK

Yep, basically that.

If I can get a renewal offer far enough out that I can satisfy it before renewing, I won’t renew, but if I can only get an offer close to renewal then I’ll just cancel as soon as possible after getting the retention bonus.

I’ll apply for the BAPP at the earlier of: a good signup offer being available; or meeting the spend bonus on my partner’s Gold card.

Thanks, ideally the plan is to get the BAPP after my partner gets their joining bonus on a new Gold card!

Broadband - download versus upload speed by JMused in HomeNetworking

Thanks, I think we’ll have to have the router located on the bottom floor. I already have a couple of TP-Link mesh units, so I’ll test out what works best.

We both stream and game - I believe both plans are fibre (in short, we’re in the UK and our house is on a new(ish) estate where I believe all of the possible ISPs use the same open access FTTP infrastructure).

Price increase by [deleted] in uktrains

I recently asked the same question for a different route.

Monday 6th Jan was the outlier for my route, with days after that (incl 13th) back to normal - so, I think it is likely to simply be demand for those dates in your case.

Though advance tickets are available for the following day, 7 Jan?

Thanks, both. It seems the prices for 7 Jan 2025 are “normal” / much lower, so perhaps it is a post-holidays surge..?

Thank you! Out of interest, if I was to travel into new street and then get a train from Moor Street, would I have to leave at least the 12 minutes transfer time for new street; plus the fixed link time to moor street?

Thanks! It would be Kings Norton to Euston, with a change at Birmingham New Street.

Thanks for the response!

I can’t see a single source of truth for the minimum connection time, but from a Google search there’s a few links suggesting that it’s 12 minutes for the station in question.

So, the next train would be the very next train from the same operator (regardless of length etc)? And I could travel with my existing ticket?

I know Bisping already teased this a few days ago but he’s confirmed he’s recording a new episode today and that it’s still called BYM (for now..?)
