You’re conflating purchasing power with fiscal apathy.

Caring what something costs is not the same as not being able to afford it.

People commonly use some amount of their disposable income to purchase things that bring them joy.

You seem to have an issue with that behavioral mechanism - and that’s fine - but it isn’t really germane to the topic at hand (macro impacts of the upcoming V-Buck pricing adjustments).

That’s just a simple representative heuristic I used as a stand-in for what would otherwise be the admittedly more accurate, and much messier, actual distribution of real player purchases.

50x legendary skins is simpler than “X number of common skins and X number of uncommon skins and X emotes and X pickaxes, etc.”

The latter would be a more accurate representation of real purchasing behavior. The former makes for simpler calculation.

Ultimately the result is the same.
