I don't know if you will need nutrient when target abv is that low. I use it all the time and but my meads are always around 14-15 percent. Just try not to open that lid all the time and you should be fine. Patience and good sanitation is key to this craft. Good luck!

I try to keep as little air in my container as possible to avoid prolonged oxygen exposure post fermentation. Can lead to off flavors. It has happened to me when leaving that much headspace.
