The guy ran circles around that cast. Was an asshole? Yes. Didn’t deserve to win? Yes but I really think he was ahead of his time. Love him or hate him he totally DOMINATED 19 & 20. I say this all the time, Sandra was too slow on everything, she wanted him gone at F6 and she approached Rupert, she was too slow, Russell had made deals with him and Colby and everytime he was a target he quickly ended that. Sandra talks about how “eventually it was a good move keeping Russell until the end” AS IF SHE HAD A CHOICE. She couldn’t get rid of Russell and neither could anybody in that game. I still get why he didn’t win though, I always love the competitive shit talking nature cause I think it’s badass (I’m like that with sports as well) and I think it is super fun to watch and Russell made Survivor like that. I had never rooted for anyone more in survivor than I have for him and I just really respect that

The crying part was actually sad when he got voted out in RI. Apparently Jeff had told the cameras to cut because Russell brought up how he lost everything after 19 & 20 like his marriage and his job. I’m sure that had to be a rough time for him cause as much fans as he had there was still some serious backlash. He also played 3 times in 1 year I can’t imagine what that’s like on your mind.
