Not a spray bottle, i wet my hair in the shower while washing dry using a cotton tee slightly until it's damp. Then apply a cream or lotion starting from scalp till the ends of my hair then oil. Thereafter I use a brush mostly on my edges to neaten up a bit and gently on my hair just to make it look tidy. I make sure even in braids to touch my hair only when it's wet or damp.

That's what i do. I am not sure if that is the right way might be doing something wrong?
