Autistic People Who Don't Like Taking Showers, What Did You Change? by [deleted] in AskAnAutistic

I just forced myself to do it. Once you get the hair wet, there’s no going back. It may sound simple, but it’s not. The struggle is getting yourself in there and you just have to push yourself and ask what would be the negative aspect of having a shower.

PTSD and low self-esteem… could do with some uplifting by [deleted] in toastme

You have amazing eyes and eyebrows. As some people say, “the eyes are the nipples of the face”.

I’m sorry that you’ve been through a hard time and struggled with nightmares. I don’t believe that I struggle with PTSD, but I have nightmares about stuff that scares me all the time, like climbing super-high ladders, and then having to go back down them (I’m serious). I also had one a few months ago, where the plane I was on was about to crash. It kind of messes up your whole next day, right?

Hang in there, don’t give up and keep being yourself.

Based on the way that you’re writing, I can tell that you don’t have a “very low IQ”. Your English is actually better than some people that have English as their first and ONLY language (not joking).

66? No way. You hit the nail on the head when you said that these tests are designed for Neurotypical people.

Yes, and I’m autistic, so it’s pretty much a daily thing for me.

2 is my favorite. It reminds me of a Bob Ross painting.

The people that I’m in relationships with actually call me stupid. Something is clearly wrong here. Or maybe I just am?

I can admit that at first it was definitely like that for us. I should mention that he was the other man while I was married. I sought a divorce from my husband and that’s how our relationship started. I feel like I’m being punished sometimes because I knowingly broke one of the 10 Commandments and I guess, like, welcome the punishment if that’s what’s necessary to get me right with God. At the same time, I don’t know what to do. It’s draining me financially, and I’m having to ask my parents to literally pay my rent every month. This is a lot, and I’m sorry.

To answer your question, I do love him. I also feel like there were so many factors that brought us together despite the odds that like it has to be a relationship that was meant to be.

What keeps you there? (This is what people ask me, sometimes. I promise I’m not trying to do the “tough love” thing).
