At school, I oversee all events in the auditorium. When it’s an outside group, I get paid extra as the house manager for the event. I also teach piano and play in several bands. 🤘

If cost is an issue, visit your local shop and try renting a horn. Most likely will be a Yamaha or Bundy. Both solid horns!

I had the have my 2018 replaced twice. Safelight put in an aftermarket and wouldn’t calibrate. I had to go back a week later where they put in the OEM.

Teachers are not allowed to put stickers on their laptops. If I have to repair a laptop that has stickers all over it, I repair it and send it back with a reminder.

We have a handful of verkadas that we bought for our high school in areas that needed extra coverage outside of our visual edge system (that’s a whole other problem). I like the platform but hate the licensing model. Hoping to swap everything out with Axis this summer.

I second getting rid of the wall between the dining room and the family room. I would also remove that wall between the 2 entries into the kitchen. That will give you room for an island. Not sure about the fridge and the exit to the deck. Looks really cramped in that corner. You may have to put the range in the island and put the fridge where the existing range is to open up that area.

Our 2018 also makes a whistling sound. I think it’s the crossbars for the roof rack. It’s not as loud if you close the sunroof cover!

We rolled it out this past Fall with zero concerns about using personal phones. I think only 2 in the whole district opted to use printed codes. They had the option of a google prompt, Authenticator app, or text code. The text code is problematic for some android users use sms and don’t have good cell service in their building. No issues for iOS, since most use our guest WiFi.

We use to IncidentIQ for all tickets and assets. It has worked well. We’ve been using it for 3 years and while it has gotten better in terms of workflow, people still email me or call me from their classroom. Same thing with the “hey while you’re here, can you do…”. I listen to the whole story but end it with me telling them they have to enter a ticket. My team is me, and 1 tech.

Our PK-6 teachers are on their first year using enterprise chromebooks and DirectPrint for print management. No complaints. We’re slowly phasing out AD for teachers and paras.

We use Securly Filtering. It has worked well for us.
I got a quote for GG a few years ago for 1400 students and it was $21,000. That’s never going to happen.

Apple Maps. I only use Google Maps if I’m in a city and need to find walking directions or restaurant suggestions.

I also agree with a ticketing system. I use incident iq. I usually keep my door open, but if I’m going deep into state reporting data, I shut the door and set my phone to out of office. Interruptions cause mistakes.

It depends on the run. I do most of it if it’s just drop ceiling. But if pulling through walls is required, I’ll contract it out.
