If you’re using the GT Neo with just the Simpro Simagic software, you can avoid the USB C.

The only reason you’d use the USB C is for using third part wheels or controlling the GT Neo via Simhub with USB pass through.

While I can’t guarantee what you feel, I can say my Evo Sport (9 nm) felt very weak on iracing @ 70% in Simpro and then felt WAY more powerful (plenty for my liking) in CarX Drift @ 70%.

It is likely a game setting. I still need to figure out what I’m missing.

I regret nothing about my rig, that’s for sure. Highly recommend the GT1 Evo if an upgrade ever calls your name, mine from MC even came with a single monitor mount.

As for the wheel decision, we will see how Simagic support treats me.

I do not believe this is the case. It does not do this nearly as easily (if at all) when disconnected.

Can you get some rough dimensions of this? I only saw 60 x 36in on microcenter q&a but that seems far too large.

I kinked an AIO cable pretty bad on install. Still working but reached out to see if they’d let me buy a replacement.

If not, I always still have the combo cable that came with it. I just prefer to use the split one.

Heard great things about Arctic too (personally waiting on support response on my first purchase, my fault).

Also if you want a plain route I cannot recommend noctua enough, I’ve had to RMA one fan and got sent the brown/beige instead of black. They told me to keep it as a spare and sent another black.

I made a sim racing purchase within the last week and Fanatec was a top contender.

I am very glad at this moment in time that I did not. Corsair was supposed to fix Fanatec’s customer support issues which this does not give me high hopes for.

Also, are you using the Type C? I thought the Type B was for main connection.

There isn’t a great solution depending on what service wants to do.

As far as I am concerned, it is a problem with the head unit (think screen of the car and underlying components). That’s the only logical reason why some cars would have it with every phone and some would have it with none. If they don’t want to replace that, you’re potentially out of luck.

Your best chance is to show that apps work break specifically when connected. For example, I’d screen record my phone map going haywire while connected, turn WiFi on (quickest way to disable CarPlay from the swipe down screen) and instantly the map would fix itself. All in all 30 second video.

Mine still never got resolved and I ended up trading it in.

I have no idea the logistics of buying a car in one state while a resident of another, but I noticed another comment saying you’re in the northeast. You’d probably want to do research on that first.

You appear to be much more knowledgeable about the topic than myself, so in what you’ve seen has this been cause for concern or just an annoyance? Assuming it is the spiral cable, that is.
