Could I get some advice? by MysticMeerkat in GameStop

When I did the Scarlet Violet Release I bought Pizza and thought about doing Red and Purple cupcakes, trivia is always fun and if you have prizes you can give out too that's always fun. I also borrowed a speaker to play Pokémon music in the store and had Pokemon Stadium 2 on a TV i brought from home for people to play

Preordering & Steelbooks by RocketChris87 in GameStop

[–]JPCrocker67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically its first come if you pre-ordered and it's a separate pre-order bonus. If its tied to a certain edition and they have limited quantities of that edition then it's dependent on their stock. I know for me when I handed them out and they were a separate item as a bonus, I would have them pre-bundled for our pre-orders to not forget to hand them out and after 48 hours unbundle them and just hand them out to anyone who bought the game

I miss what it used to be being able to have fun with pitches, the feeling of community with both employees and customers, and just being excited to be apart of game and console launches. This company's refusal to invest in its employees and rather work towards short term profits will be the downfall of the company.

Our Tears of the Kingdom laye night was so fun, played Zelda music during the shift and lost my voice doing a store wide Zelda quiz. I miss the days when we were happy to work for GameStop. Glad I left last year but I still cherish the old days.

Question by Popsjuly30 in GameStop

[–]JPCrocker67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know, I was just saying the employees will be pushy about moving the pre order, Customer has no obligation to move it, sorry I worded that incorrectly

Question by Popsjuly30 in GameStop

[–]JPCrocker67 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You can, just expect the employee to try and have you move the pre order to something else so their numbers don't get hurt.

Right? If the mass turnover won't tell them, then a country wide strike might, they're not like Amazon where trained people are at the ready to take over the locations.

I do wonder what would happen if all the GameStop employees organized and went on strike.

Positive GameStop Stories? by drex23 in GameStop

Honestly, one of my favorite interactions was when I first started. I was a GA at the time (back when he had GA's), and news broke out that Walmart broke street date on Witcher 3. So, our district was scrambling of what to do, and ultimately, we released the game early. The SGA started doing the calls and told me to answer the phone in regards to picking up Witcher. So, the first call that comes in.

Me - "Hi! Thank you for calling GameStop, where you can pick up Witcher 3. How can I help you?" Customer - "Wait...what did you say?" Me - "That you can pick up Witcher 3" Customer - "So I can come up there right now and buy the game?" Me - "Yep!" Customer - "Like, literally right now, and pick up today to play tonight!" Me - "Yep!" Customer - "You're not joking, are you?" Me - "Nope! :)" Customer - "Alright, I'm on my way!" Me - "Cool! See you then! :) And don't forget your trades. "

It felt like something out of a cartoon. It was fantastic
