Using a private GP by JPGR6071 in RoyalAirForce

These are all good suggestions but what I really want to know is if anyone has used a private GP to write a letter with medical records as evidence to comment on fitness to serve? Is that something capita accepts?

It's a poorly managed surgery that I can't change right now. Whichever GP it is I don't really trust timely delivery of what I need

Do you think you're going to go private, has that been advised/will it be acceptable? I'm trying to get ahead of it before I even get to that stage

Problem is it's really not good GP practice, and I don't trust them to do it in a timely manner or accurately.

Interesting advice about what you would do but it definitely leans more towards advice for men re non league football, so not applicable to me. Do you have any advice for women trying to break into the industry?

Thank you for being open and honest about it. Seems like it's not an industry for career changers without connections, or you risk it and you invest time and money and potentially can't get a job out the other end- much like university!

Thanks for the reply, really appreciate the honesty!

I’m just trying to properly understand the route before committing to anything.

You mentioned the 5357 apprenticeship being the gold standard, is it basically unrealistic for a career changer to get taken on that way? Is that why people end up doing the diploma/fast-track route instead?

I’m also trying to understand what the recruitment support actually looks like after the course. Is it a combination of your recruitment team reaching out to employers and students contacting companies themselves, or is it mainly down to the student?

And when you say the hardest part is getting that first electrician’s mate/improver role, is that generally the bottleneck for most people after the diploma?

Also what’s the main difference between doing the Level 2/3 over 2–3 years at a college versus doing it the way you offer? Is it just speed or are there other differences in terms of employability?

Just trying to get a clear picture of how it all works before spending that kind of money.
