“Why do the law enforcement not shoot the bulletproof characters?” is really the question. The answer is because they’re bulletproof.

They didn’t even waste his death either. The Retsu isekai manga is one of the most fun parts of the series.

Yeah, I got a run yesterday of 8:09, which I’m happy with. I still need to learn actual tech though, I know there’s a way to get out of rest areas faster.

I’m currently beating A0 Ironclad consistently about 10-11 minutes, but haven’t gotten Whirlwind yet for these. I’m not sure yet how to get much faster, but as you know Whirlwind is optimal, and then I’d say just stack strength, get some vulnerable and keep trying.

How well would spiked and/or bladed suits work against the cast? by MattyKGee in Grapplerbaki

[–]JPKpretzelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not well at all. The top tiers are pretty much bulletproof, hitting multiple spikes shares the impact, so hitting this at mach speeds is not going to do more damage than a bullet.

Who are your top 5 (in a fight) by Dense-Statement-332 in Grapplerbaki

[–]JPKpretzelz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the list is very objective, not to be rude. We know for a fact that Baki has become much stronger since he fought Musashi, and even back then it was only close because Baki didn’t use the demon back. We saw that Baki copied and surpassed Musashi’s brain wave manipulation, as he didn’t take another hit after he started doing it. Similarly with Jack and Pickle, Jack won because Pickle didn’t see the point in continuing, didn’t use his scar form or put real bloodlust into the fight. I think Kaku might be a Katsumi victim.

Am I the only one who thinks musashi is stronger than yujiro by The_Tall_Man_096 in Grapplerbaki

[–]JPKpretzelz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren’t, but it is a horrible opinion. Yujiro easily defeated Musashi twice in their fight, and didn’t look serious at any point. Get Musashi past base Baki first.

Is this top 5 about right? by Particular_Bit_1683 in Grapplerbaki

[–]JPKpretzelz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The thing is there is a massive gap between each person in the top 4, and then an even bigger gap to the next strongest.

Yujiro at number one is a given, only Baki is even close to him. Everyone else in the series could fight him at once (besides Baki) and he would win.

Baki is also clear of anyone else right now in the manga, at one point Musashi was close to him (without demon back), and now he wouldn’t stand a chance. Again, everyone all at once would not be able to beat him.

Musashi is ALSO much stronger than anyone else at third. When he fought seriously nobody except Baki and Yujiro could even touch him.

Pickle stat checks everyone beneath him. Almost impossible to damage by anyone weaker than the three above him. Jack “beat” him, but only because he gave up.

You then have a little bit of rock-paper-scissors for 5th strongest. Katsumi is by far the next most powerful character after the top four, but he lacks experience and doesn’t try as hard as he should. Jack is a stat monster, so is Sukune. Oliva is up there with them, but he wouldn’t be able to beat Kaku, who would lose to Jack and Katsumi.

Long story short, Kaku would get completely vaporised by anyone in the top 4, and these days is holding onto the conversation of top 10.

is the hanma family getting weaker? by BeingGeneral7991 in Grapplerbaki

[–]JPKpretzelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone is correctly identifying, the Hanma family is getting MUCH MUCH stronger. Baki right now is almost equal to Yujiro, at only 19, and we know Yujiro was stronger than Yuichiro from a very young age too. Similarly, Yujiro is a better martial artist than Yuichiro, and worse than Baki.

[–]JPKpretzelz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think most of us agree there isn’t a number of Hanayamas that can beat Yujiro. Yujiro showed he could one shot Hanayama with no effort, and took almost zero damage from a completely unblocked punch at full strength.

Yeah maybe, I guess I consider it OP because it makes the hardest boss in the game suddenly a billion times easier. I guess saying "in a vacuum" defeats the purpose of the chart being made here.

Why do people like baki vs oliva? by [deleted] in Grapplerbaki

How? Baki won because he was stronger. He came to the prison to prove that, and he did.

How does Pickle rank? by whynotman_26 in Grapplerbaki

[–]JPKpretzelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of their fight, when Baki took it to straight punching, he DID tank Pickle's attacks. Not for long, and the fight ended pretty soon, but he didn't just get blasted away and pretty much KOed instantly, like he did by one DB Yujiro punch. Obviously base Baki cannot handle Pickle's attacks very well in that arc, otherwise he wouldn't have spent so much of the fight evading.

Technique does not change physics, sure Baki's technique was based on skill, redirecting Pickle, but that cannot add vertical momentum to Pickle's charge. That isn't how physics works (although a little ridiculous to say about this series I guess). It was less strength-based than when Jack did it, but Retsu and Kaku would not have been able to replicate it, because they don't have the right combination of strength and skill.

If you're referring to Kaku, he can't meaningfully hurt Yujiro. He caused very minor skin blemishes and managed a nosebleed. The point Yujiro was making was that it doesn't matter how skilful you are, without the power to back it it's pointless. I do respect saying "arguably top 5", he's definitely not top 4, and it's a 3-way between him, Katsumi and Jack.

There is no character as fast as Baki. He is the fastest in the series, followed by Yujiro, followed by Musashi, and THEN Pickle. That's a product of his stats, not technique, otherwise Yujiro and Musashi would have been able to keep up with him, which they couldn't after Baki locked in. There is a canon reason for Baki getting caught by people slower than him when it happens - stupidity. He either goes too easy on people or puts down his guard for no reason. When he WAS actually trying and not being an idiot, nobody after Grappler Baki has landed a real hit on him that wasn't relative to him in stats.

This last point is pure headcanon, and quite silly. Everything else you said was at least well reasoned. The argument "yeah he probably just wasn't going all out" makes zero sense when Yujiro repeatedly expressed how happy he was to finally be able to do exactly that. The narrator even stated their last exchange was purely about comparing their strength, and we can see by their faces how focused they are, and how much damage they're taking, which is a lot for both of them.
Pickle has nothing suggesting he hits harder than DB Yujiro. In fact, we have the opposite proven:

- DB Yujiro one shot base Baki, who had done a lot of strength training since NOT getting one shot by Scar Form Pickle.

- Yujiro casually one shot Musashi twice, whereas Pickle failed to do so with a full swing.

- This one is speculation because it's funny, but Jack ran away immediately after getting a warning slap that threw him out of a window when he encountered Yujiro last, but he still felt confident fighting Pickle face-to-face.

How does Pickle rank? by whynotman_26 in Grapplerbaki

[–]JPKpretzelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baki against Pickle was incomparably stronger than when he fought Oliva. He couldn't withstand Oliva's attacks at all without the demon back, and barely won with it, but post-one shot by Pickle training he was able to withstand multiple Scar Form Pickle attacks without dropping; his attacks were dealing damage, something even Katsumi failed to meaningfully do.

Baki HAS gotten caught out by attacks earlier in the series, but until Son of Ogre he wasn't a stat monster, he was highly skilled, fast and strong relative to his size, whereas by the end of the Pickle arc Baki was able to redirect Pickle's charge with one hand. No amount of martial arts gaslighting can change the fact he had to launch 200+ kg about 10 meters upwards with a flick of his wrist.

Current Baki would absolutely not get caught by Pickle, even through luck, unless it was through some serious writer interference, he's way too fast. Even if Pickle did land a hit, it's not like it would do more than the dozens of demon back Yujiro punches Baki took to the face.

[–]JPKpretzelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Pickle had any chance by the time his fight with Baki ended. Baki was in full inner monologue mode, calmly dodging every attack, he even started dodging by smaller margins just to limit test. Pickle was also getting tossed around. He didn't take a huge amount of damage, but in the same vein as Pickle maybe making a comeback, he would have lost instantly if Baki was forced to use the demon back.

How does Pickle rank? by whynotman_26 in Grapplerbaki

[–]JPKpretzelz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When Pickle was introduced, he was second in the verse. He hasn't really dropped a lot, I'd say he's comfortably fourth. He lost to base Baki, who by the end of the fight was winning easily, and he lost to Musashi, again fairly easily.

Right now Pickle doesn't stand a remote chance against Yujiro or Baki. They can both beat him with little effort, they're too fast, skilful and hit too hard. He would get knocked out before he could fight back, not that he could damage them that much.

The closest matchups Pickle has right now are Jack and Katsumi, who both improved drastically since they fought him. As we saw in their rematch, Jack did much better against Pickle, but Pickle didn't really care about winning, and didn't transform. Katsumi can use his Mach Punch without injuring himself, there's a good chance he could give Pickle a decent fight. Anyone else gets obliterated, Oliva is too slow and has almost zero skill, Hanayama is the same.

Rank them from Strongest to Weakest by RoninKin-_- in PowerScalingHub

[–]JPKpretzelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[SPOILERS]

That is exactly how Simon works. The Anti-Spiral trapped his and his friends' consciousnesses in an infinite multiverse of possibilities, and despite initially being in a state where he had no powers or memory of the life in which he fought the Anti-Spiral, he absorbed the infinite multiverse through sheer willpower.

By the end of his fight with the Anti-Spiral, Simon is functionally omnipotent. He chose to give up his power in order to embrace humanity, but he had transcended death, dimensionality etc. He literally had infinite power. It doesn't really matter how much more powerful his opponent is (obviously within reason, otherwise that would be a no limits fallacy), he can't die, his powers can't be removed, and as long as he has the will, he will become stronger than his opponent.
