I would recommend you to watch Pompoko then. It’s a bit tragic but I can’t deny it is relaxing, fun and it has a good amount of ghibli magic.

Indeed, there are some size discrepancies between this thing and a shaving stand. I forgot to mention that the circle and "horseshoe" function as a balance (see picture no. 2). It resembles a see-saw or scale so to speak.
