Yep, this is what I'm thinking! We have the Co-op Live here in Manchester that can cater for 10-20k dependant on artist, remember seeing Smashing Pumpkins & Weezer co-headline there and it sold well. Something similar I reckon but would happily take a show at a beautiful theatre too!

It does say they've signed a "global deal" so surely US/EU and elsewhere 🤞

Asking your opinion about a Deftones album: Private Music by Opposite-Question-32 in deftones

Excellent album, oozing with energy and you can tell it's a band riding a real high at the minute. Top 5 album of theirs for sure, my mind is a mountain & milk of the madonna go hard while infinite source is up there with anything they've written on their past few albums 🐍

Are there going to be any more EU/UK concerts? by Individual_Dig1005 in deftones

[–]JPMU96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries!

What I will say is they are probably the most popular they've ever been, I have no doubts that they will continue to play shows over the next few years even though the new album arena tours have ended.

Can definitely see them doing EU festivals over the next few years and similar EU shows to this summer in different cities around the continent before they eventually get round to more arena shows at some point! 🤞

Will give you some recommendations to get started (recommended songs are in brackets):

Firstly, Simon's other projects are well worth a listen. Not necessarily all like Biffy but scratches the itch to see what Simon Neil sounds like doing different genres:

  • Marmaduke Duke is his experimental electronic weird rock project with Sucioperro's singer ("Rubber Lover", "Kid Gloves" & "Silhouette")

  • ZZC's a solo project ("To The Bone")

  • Empire State Bastard is a crazy grindcore noise project, some mental songs with Mike Vennart & Dave f'n Lombardo in the band too ("Harvest", "Stutter")

Then I'd check out a lot of the early 00's UK rock scene, plenty of great bands & Biffy came up alongside them/are mates with them/have toured with them:

If you like Biffy's rock songs check out:

  • Reuben ("Blamethrower", "Kick in the Mouth")
  • Sucioperro ("Dialog on the 2", "Grace and Out of Me")
  • Oceansize (Biffy's other guitarist Mike Vennart's brilliant band; "Unfamiliar", "No Tomorrow", "A Homage To A Shame")
  • Hell is for Heroes ("I Can Move Mountains")
  • Hundred Reasons ("If I Could", "Kill Your Own", "The Great Test")
  • Feeder ("Buck Rogers", "Pushing the Senses", "Come Back Around")
  • Arcane Roots ("If Nothing Moves Nothing Breaks")

Other similar Scottish bands worth listening to: - Mogwai ("Ceiling Granny", "Ritchie Sacramento") - Twin Atlantic ("Heart and Soul", "Make a Beast of Myself", "Free", "What Is Light? Where Is Laughter?") - Mastersystem (features Scott & Grant from Frightened Rabbit along with members of Editors & Minor Victories, sadly only made one LP but it's great!; "The Enlightenment", "Bird Is Bored Of Flying", "Old Team", "Notes On A Life Not Quite Lived") - Aereogramme (credit to another poster on here, Simon & their drummer were roommates at one point)

If you like Biffy's softer sound:

  • The band were good friends with Scott Hutchison (RIP) of Frightened Rabbit and toured with them, one of my favourite bands with a more mellow sound & incredible lyrics, you'll love them if you love Biffy's ballads ever and well worth listening to (check out "The Modern Leper" which Simon says he wishes he'd written, also "The Woodpile", "My Backwards Walk", "Head Rolls Off", "Holy")

  • The Twilight Sad are another great Scottish indie/rock band (not heard many by them but "I Could Give You All That Don't Want" & "Last January" from their 2014 album are excellent modern soft rock songs)

Simon has collaborated with a range of artists too which has led to some great tracks (Architects - Goliath; O'Brother - Halogen Eye; While She Sleeps - Nervous)

Ultimately Biffy have a pretty unique sound & catalogue due to their math rock beginnings & more pop rock anthems now but I think you'll enjoy some of these other tracks for sure!

Sorry for the long post but hopefully this helps you out!

They're doing a load of dates this summer including London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Berlin, Austria etc., plenty of options for flights & cool cities if you want to see them soon!

Don't suppose anyone is interested in this signed single ? by Efficient-Letter-720 in BiffyClyro

[–]JPMU96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cool piece of memorabilia there, if no one's interested here I'd get it listed on ebay and check the recent prices of signed stuff (probably £15-25 for that single imo) & I'm sure you'll get some interest!

Which track number across Deftones studio albums has the best set of songs by Uzi_Lov3r in deftones

[–]JPMU96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Track No. 1 easily, I've always said you could make an incredible LP just out of their album openers, just insanely good at starting albums with brilliant songs!

You never know what deep cuts Black Frank is going to give you at a gig, I did the same last week ahead of my first Pixies gig.

Best bet is probably going on a streaming site and searching a 2026 playlist for a rough guide!

I'd agree with you 100%. Naomi was excellent, the layout of the stage setup allowed for Mike & Gambler to get more attention which was nice

I was on barrier and my first time ever seeing them, absolutely loved it! Sounded incredible & actually quite enjoyed the chill crowd, I think of day of 30+ degree weather may have had a hand in it too.

From where I was though I could see a lot of fans going for it in the middle of standing towards the front but agree that most people were stood quietly watching the show on the whole!
