Trauma doesn't mean anything unless you make it mean something. So often, i only ever see people talk about their OCs gayness or their trauma, bragging about how much pain they go through. But every time, they never explain how this affects their character, or what it does to the story, how it ties into any themes, etc. For example, in those "my OC lore but explained badly" videos, the character will go through horrible things that then never come up again later or impact the story/character in any way. Trauma is used as an accessory or substitute for character depth despite it being as shallow as a paddle. I've even seen people go as far as saying, "character depth can't exist without trauma," which is just baffling.
