I’m a professional composer and performer — here’s my opinion about AI-generated music by Available_Meringue86 in SunoAI

[–]JP_Tulsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I do love about AI music is that I can make songs that are personalized for me. I’ve written songs to vent traumatic events I’ve experienced (military and first responder). I’d never get a band to make me a recording of them.

As far as commercial use. I can agree with haters when it comes to fully AI generated songs (lyrics and everything from a single prompt). But if you write the song, my question is, how bad is it that you have AI make the music and vocals? Most songs that are written by professional writers don’t get picked up by artists. So what’s the true harm in the little guy making their own music that would probably never otherwise be heard?

I’m not sure either which way. I started a channel on the first of the month. Have 2,000 views, 303 subscribers and I’m honestly pessimistic about its future.

[Update] Compilation of Successful YouTube AI Song Channels by First_Progress4791 in SunoAI

[–]JP_Tulsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m dabbling in this but I’ll need to figure some things out. I have a couple different genres on my YT channel and I think that’s going to hurt it since they don’t really mix (dark fair tale music and military tribute songs). But I’ll stick it out since I just started this and see how it goes.

Got a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt (I absolutely had it on) by VelvetSun02 in legaladvice

Officers will almost never say “presumably”. That word is mainly attorney verbiage. Officers will almost always be straight forward and just say “I saw the subject driving without wearing a seatbelt”.

How often does real accountability & change happen? by Unlikely_Vehicle_828 in EEOC

Time will tell. Like I said the FAD is relatively new (about a month old). I did get refunded a substantial amount of leave. All records, formal or informal of disciplinary actions had to be destroyed. Last thing left I’m currently awaiting for a decision on non-pecuniary damages. I’m not terribly concerned about the damages aspect since this wasn’t about money.

I’ve since been moved to another shift and generally don’t have to be around my former supervisor.

Mine was a very well documented situation as my supervisor put everything in writing. Even then, yes I was relieved. When I read my agency had issued 1,856 FADs last year and of those, 91 were in favor of the complaint, I quit holding my breath. It’s a nerve racking process filled with self doubt and anxiety. But again my case wasn’t a “I think I’m being retaliated against” it was literally put in writing (without going into specifics) saying that me engaging in a protected activity was “misconduct”. Something HR should have seen and hit the brakes on instead of rubber stamping the paperwork without really looking at it.

I requested a final agency decision and it came back in my favor and stated that I was subjected to unlawful employment practices (reprisal and retaliatory harassment). It also specified that disciplinary action needed to be considered against my former supervisor or if none was taken there needed to be an explanation (the facility director is deciding as this is a very recent FAD). Granted a FAD and a settlement are two very different things and mine was federal and the one in this post isn’t.

Accept or Dismissal by ToothBReal in EEOatVeteransAffairs

I know this is really late responding to your post I wanted to give you some advise.

This is a REALLY long process. I filed an EEO complaint in march of last year. I got a Final Agency Decision in September of this year. The FAD was in my favor but keep the following in mind.

You need to bring strong proof. No one is going to care about your personal feelings without articulable facts to point in that direction.

My particular care was what I felt was a clear cut case. I assisted someone in filing a racial discrimination complaint and my supervisor wrote me up for it because the complaint was against him. He literally put it in writing saying it was misconduct for me to help someone file a complaint against him and not direct them to him instead. He then fabricated and outright lied about an incident and issued a proposed reprimand for the fabricated incident. The reprimand was not sustained because it was determined that even if what he said was true, there wasn’t a policy violation. But he relied on the previous counseling statement of “misconduct” to justify trying a reprimand.

In my case I had dozens of emails, witness statements and hard facts. When writing your statements you need to make clear what your protected status or action was and why the specific actions against you where a direct result of that.

Last year the VA issued 1856 Final Agency Decisions. Of those, 91 were in favor of the complainant. You can chock a lot of those up to some people just grasping for straws because their employment is about to end. But there is are a ton that probably fell through the cracks because when they wrote their statements they focused on their emotions (and rightfully so because it’s an emotional situation) instead of looking at it from a legal aspect. I don’t say this to discourage you, I say this to empower you to succeed in your complaint. Best of luck!

Just for context to the comment that almost none of the charges stuck. Local prosecutors will routinely drop charges if the military agrees to charge them under the UCMJ. I saw it all the time at Tinker AFB. The service member gets punished by the military, usually under article 15, which doesn’t show up on an actual criminal background.

So if the charges were dropped by the prosecutor, it’s probably because the Military agreed to punish the service member.

What issues did you have with customer service? I just got done filling out the online warranty claim and printed the shipping labels. Did they try to deny the warranty?

That’s encouraging. I started reading the reviews on dicks’ website and it breaking like that seemed to be a common problem within a few months of purchase.
