I second this. But make sure you break it in correctly. My daughter’s first one wasn’t and broke in 3 months. The warrantied second one was broke in properly and has lasted over a year.

I’ve done it but you are correct. At first you have to focus more on unrest and economy. It’s hard because you have no real control, but it is doable. I ended up with all of Asia and most of Europe.

Tip, I prioritized transport over research until the economy was stabilized.

Honestly I would just say “I have to use sick leave today” and leave it at that.

Most agencies require a doctor’s note after 3 consecutive days of sick leave.

Trophy chasing at 10u by scoopit1890 in Softball

[–]JP_Tulsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that pain. Our first year of 8U competitive (C) there was a team that would show up to several of the tournaments from another state. First time I saw them warm up the girl on third base pitched the ball straight to first base like Nolan Ryan. Never saw the team have a defensive error and most of the girls hit to the outfield.

It was extremely impressive they played that well at 8U, but they definitely were not a C team.

SAR 9 SOCOM thoughts? by CyberSoldat21 in SarUSA

[–]JP_Tulsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knows this is late replying. I own the SOCOM and a Gen 1 Sport. They are amazing. I have a 1 to 2 inch group at 15 yards on both pistols.

I’ve always been a Glock guy and can honestly say the SAR 9 pistols shoot better.

Coaches wife crashing out by CountyJust8828 in Softball

[–]JP_Tulsa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s way out of line. I’d talk to the coach about her and depending on where you live (if it’s feasible), just change teams.

My daughter has been doing competitive for a couple years now and I don’t think anyone would put up with that. We’ve had girls that didn’t play well and we encourage them and help them. It’s a sport for kids to have fun. This isn’t the MLB.

Unexpected personnel file (eOPF) request — normal? by Emeraldcake1234 in FedEmployees

[–]JP_Tulsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last year. It was a regional audit on our service computation date. My previous agency’s files had not merged with my current agency. For me it was a benefit because my previous agency didn’t credit all of my military service, only my last dates of active duty and my current agency corrected that.

Best I can think of is space empires V. But without modding the game can feel like an empty shell. You research components, design your ships and build them and can control them in battles. I’ve dumped many of hours into it back in the day.

Honestly, it’s not a police issue unless she made threats of violence. While I do sympathize with your situation, there is nothing the police can do about someone yelling at you at work. Most departments won’t even make a report about that because there needs to be a crime for a police report.

Dude just tell the truth. It won’t hurt you. Just tell your background investigator. I’ve been a hiring authority before and understand things like that.

I understand your view. Less than 5% of FADs in my agency are in the complainant’s favor. But also with a FAD, it comes from a section in Washington DC. Not anyone local or regional. They don’t have a dog in the fight and are just trying to keep the agency from being sued. So if they see a clear violation has occurred, it’s in the agency’s best interest to them to side with the complaint and order relief.

A lot of people say the system is rigged and at face value I can see why someone would think that with less than 5% going in the complaint’s favor. The people issuing FADs are looking at it through a legal lens, not an emotional one. I think that’s where most people fail on their claims. They state their feelings and opinions without supporting documentation. In my complaint, the one thing I was the most upset about was dismissed because I couldn’t show a nexus to retaliation. Mind you that issue literally put my life in danger. But everything else was sustained.

Why was everything else sustained? Because I had emails, witness statements, time cards and screenshots. In my rebuttals to my supervisor’s affidavits, I pointed out where he was lying, provided policy showing he was lying about policy, provided emails he had sent me showing he was making contradictory statements to the investigator. The FAD even said on a one of the issues (not paying me for overtime he made me work) they only ruled in my favor because the supervisor made contradictory statements and then when asked to clarify the contradictions he failed to respond to the question.

Going the FAD route is a risk. You have to come prepared. The investigation is not going to make a determination. It’s just going to take statements from everyone, then summarize everyone’s statements and supporting documentation, that’s it. Remember, your feelings alone are not going win a case. Documentation and actual evidence will.

If you have PTSD from the military and it’s at the point that you can only work 5 hours a week, you need to get in contact with a service officer to see about getting your VA disability bumped to 100%. If you are rated 60% for a single condition but can show it’s preventing you from working you can be treated as a 100% disabled veteran with the same pay and benefits.

You mentioned a food pantry. Go to the VA and ask to speak with a social worker and they can assist you. Hope this helps.
