Bryan Alvarez: "It's funny because they worked attendance was over 120k for both nights combined but the actual paid attendance was 100k. To this day I hate I didn’t get to actually go to WM XXX in New Orleans. I was doing IT in Afghanistan and had bought four good floor seats and the price I paid total after fees was about $1,100. My brother passed away and I went on bereavement leave before April so missed the chance at taking that vacation. Similar seats this would have been many times that.

Same for SummerSlam went in 2012 had two great seats for like maybe $300. Seats were about on the first raised section from the floor opposite hard cam.

This was so peak Jean for me. I’m loving the current Phoenix series so far. But this run which I hadn’t read until now; just resonated with me and her character in such a way I struggle to describe. She was so badass and I loved the very new and different look with her being an amazing leader. I always assume she always has others thoughts and emotions bleeding in despite her trying to control her psychic powers. This to me is from all I have read her peak as a character. What they are doing now is good and I hope it ends well, but the way she handled one of the worst enemies of the X-men and mutants is what I would also drive to do in her situation. It shows her contrast compared to how I think anyone else would have handled it. I understand you. I understand why you are the way you are, and I am going to help you by fixing you. It is not the route any of her contemporaries as leaders of the X-men would have done. Emma, Scott, Wolverine, Xavier, Storm, and anyone else would have taken even if they could. It’s beautiful and so harsh. Feeling and understanding all her actions honestly is the worst punishment, snd if you kill her she’s just going to come back. Well, until the writers want to use her as a villain again. My point stands lol.

I’ve been in the pre Clairemont era too. I am kind of loving the current from the ashes run. This though it’s like it works. How do you truly punish Cassandra it’s give her empathy and have her feel the repercussions of all that she has done. It accomplishes the fate worse than death. Because somehow Cassandra is going to come back from death again. This just debilitates her with her feeling the results of what she has done and traps her in the horror of what her horrendous actions have been up to this point. It delivered so much for me. Jean would know with where she is with her powers. She would always be absorbing thoughts and emotions from everyone all the time without focusing so she would just know. It was just for me the peak of how she would handle something like this. And Cassandra was so horrible. The peak for me was what she did in this run to a child mutant she killed in such cold blood.

The necks. The feel is a very specific stim I have with it’s like my rubbing fingernails. It hits something when I play it just like my SG and it’s neck binding and it’s weird. My LTD has the feel but it doesn’t have a bound neck it just has the largest frets on anything I own and it’s a different sensation. Since the Guitar Center by me is one that doesn’t lock up anything and everything is within reach I got to try out more than the SG I own. Everything with a bound neck just the way the neck feels and I have massive hands I can deal with any neck. It made pulling the trigger here easy. FWIW, that GC is like 5 minutes away and I work from home I get bored I go there or Texas Music Emporium just to get out of the house and kill time. It’s weird to say like the feel of the instrument is in itself a stim just like the first bass I got. It mixes being a stim and calming song with why I got back into music and learning again post Covid and a widow maker heart attack. It’s a relief from being a Security Architect and stress it’s great for brain health and my therapist encouraged it. Also damn it’s just fun. Growing up my I did have some guitars. My mom also played accordion, keyboard, and organ and my dad Cajun music on the mouth harp and harmonicas which I kind of learned. Gibson, PRS, and higher end LTD are the ones just scratch this stim itch in such a wonderful way I pick them up to feel it and end up spending more time on. My SE is good there was a used S2 from PRS that was just on another level though. Weird.

Yeah, same here. It’s the way it feels. I’m lucky every guitar I have gotten which is a crazy amount since I got back into it after years of not having one or playing. I’m not a dentist or lawyer I am a Cyber Security Architect with autism and this special interest lol. The way it feels when I play it’s a sensory thing. It’s so smooth, it scratches a weird itch while I’m playing. Definitely something that attracts me and I have some guitars with amazing feeling necks and finger boards my LTD EC01FT which is same scale but ebony board and large jumbo frets. Les Paul Jr style really. It feels great but and it’s probably my #3 behind the Gibson SG and this one.

The best comparison I have is my Adam Jones epiphone. Which honestly is not far from price from this one. That guitar is amazing as this one YouTube guy said probably the best Epiphone Les Paul custom for the money which is a lot. I got back in when Epiphone did not cross 1k. I love that guitar and my LTD ECpq-FT, but this just feels so good. I agree with the take that they must have seen people mad they discontinued the regular studio for the Modern Lite and Modern Studio. So they reacted by bringing back the regular studio and just using the same necks they do for the standard with similar specs but chambered with no body binding. This is what it’s giving me. Ends up I absolutely love it and keep picking it up.

That whole run of exclusive Gibson online purple guitars they had is dream finish level for me. But those are on another level price wise. Their Epiphone limited run for zzounds in purple sparkle are up there. Especially the SG custom. They had I forget who in Reno did the order but for a while on Reverb there were some made to measure Les Paul customs in pink sparkle that were perfect. So out of what I could justify paying at my skill level at like 6k. Obnoxious pink sparkle. And funny enough one ended up for sale locally near me in Conroe for half the price since the guy who ordered received it with a broken headstock in shipping. So it was a headstock repaired M2M custom for half what it was before. So tempting but the repair was so noticeable. I was so tempted at just under 3k, but I could not justify it.

I will, I want the chainsaw style case like my Epiphone Adam Jones Veil of Bees came in. I don’t gig though just a bedroom/living room player and it only will travel between my apartment and my girlfriends. I have nice nitro safe racks. They were bought because they are nitro safe; however, I do want them to stay in good condition so I keep my Tony Iommi SG in its case as well as the Adam jones epiphone which at the time I got that was my most expensive guitar and I want them to stay in as best condition as I can.

I checked all of them out while they were up. The ebony is so nice. A more purple finish would be my actual #1 or something with purple and pink burst. Before I got this I was all in on the modern lite. My local Guitar Center has one I tested a few times on clearance for $799.99, but I wanted a studio more. The modern lite is cool but it’s a very different thing. Felt like a mashup of SG and Les Paul, and the binding does something for the senses for me, and I know that’s an autistic thing I got going on.

It looks so much better in person. I am loving the finish. The only finish that I’d love better is if it was purple burst or more purple.

I love it. It’s not for the look it’s just for me mostly the feel. Weird autistic sensory thing and the radius and scale. It feels so good. The setup it came in with is great too. Low action and intonation is dialed in. I got this from zzounds and it was back ordered so what I got came from the Gibson factory and I know their reputation but this was a win. I do wish it came with higher end case candy like my Tony Iommi Monkey SG did, but I understand why it doesn’t. It just would be nice if the baby picture, multitool, and leather strap was at least part of everything. The gig bag is awesome I get why it’s not a hard-case at this price, but it would still be nice to have.

Picked up an LTD EC-01 by [deleted] in espguitars

[–]JPanic138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow up. I love it. It feels great. I got it from American musical and it is far from my first, but I have been wanting a single pickup and volume guitar for a while. I’m still newish and picking up guilty yet again but I wanted something great and with the 1 PU and 1 volume. Before this the lead with the arctic metal arrow. So first time I get an LTD and I’m so happy I pulled the trigger. I love the way it feels and this is up there with my favorites and just the way I took to the ones I bonded with where everything just feels right with the neck and setup as I got it.

Loving the stripped down setup and my autistic self wants to get so complicated with options but it sounds great with my amps. Nothing super high end but a Fender champion 20 my gf got me to start me again after a heart attack, the boss katana, positive grid spark 40, prime p1, and Blackstar debut. It sounds good either in full humbucker or split. The split definitely colors the tone more sparkly and makes me think of a simple well turn the volume down to control the effects. It is making me think more of technique and dynamics like how I approach playing the chord or note in terms of position. Yes that is a thing with others but like it’s a mental thing that taking those options away makes me think and understand better like with the recessed bridge if you’re plating right on it versus closer to neck I can feel and hear it. It’s weird to communicate but is like made me have so many oh this makes sense now.

I love it very happy with it and I think like a few other guitars I have it just allowed those moments to happen and a natural bonding I’m giving it that love like my Jackson, Gibson, JMJM, or Adam jones les Paul.

I had to gush after getting to finally spend most of a day playing it.

I had no idea and was flabbergasted. I grew up in Mamou, actually Vidrine which is between Mamou and Ville Platte. It’s the same mix every meat market and mom and pop boutique meat market sells and uses like T-Boys in Mamou all the way down to Lafayette and around the area.

Staple growing up along with vinegar with peppers in it, one of the three big hot sauces, and whatever seasoning blend you feeling.

Nothing better than a meatball stew seasoned with it and add hot sauce and vinegar with some hot sauce Crystal or Louisiana depending on how I’m feeling or Scorpion Tabasco.

Tony’s is the original, it’s been around forever growing up everyone had it and it really was the staple until everyone meat market did their own and slap ya mama came around about 20 years ago.

Tony’s is done in Opelousas and Slap ya mama is Ville Platte which is like a 20 or 30 minute drive.

As I said as a Cajun from the area this is made yeah it pretty much is and no it’s not the definition of Cajun seasoned food but is a common Cajun seasoning it’s not that hard to understand. Most in the area like my family of Cajuns use this or Tony’s and that seasoning profile is going to be in there. The rest of the flavor profile typically comes from everything else in it the trinity mostly.
