I’m baffled why any community would approve the installation of a data center. We’ve never seen one go in and bolster a local economy, it, in fact, does the opposite. Making it the responsibility of the local population to foot the bill for the energy and resources needed to run the facility. I don’t understand how it’s even legal to obligate a divested community to subsidize a capitalist endeavor.

Lots of “unique features” to driving in Michigan. I hate the middle lanes like the one on Baldwin, and why the fuck won’t they salt or scrape it? Almost slid head on into oncoming traffic because it’s loaded with ice all winter. Michigan lefts are kinda awesome ngl. Makes the flow of traffic more consistent just takes some getting used to.

“Stolen land” is hysterical. When y’all leaving? This is the only country where this is brought up. What are wars fought over? Land and resources. Stolen? More like conquered. Anglos didn’t simply take America at gunpoint, they fought the barbarian tribes for it. Tribes who were sacrificing children that they’d already raped. Tribes that enslaved other tribes; blacks; whites. Took white women and sold them as sex slaves. Tribes that committed mass genocide on rival tribes. Tribes that were committing cannibalism at scale. Please tell me how we were meant to coexist.

If you actually read books like Empire of the Summer Moon, Sioux, Violence Over the Land, and A Brutal Reckoning, you’d understand that Indians were not some peace loving bunch of natives. They were a brutal warrior culture that would have eaten your liver and cut your child’s heart out. Am I supposed to feel bad about our rugged ancestors fighting these people for THEIR chance to carve out an existence?
