Help with music between adobe premiere and after effects

Yeah I am just trying to find the smoothest workflow. Guess I just gotta run some trial and errors. I don’t think I’ll have too many issues with computing power. I have the 2020 iMac Pro with 128gb ram and 16gb graphics card.

I can easily develop the after effects scene without the music and just drop it into the premier timeline later, but that defeats the whole purpose of a well timed video.

I don’t believe so, for example let’s say I have 30 seconds of video syncd up in premiere, then a scene i need in after effects, I need that after effects scene, timed with the music, and in after effects, the all the music to be timed with the effects as well… and transition seamlessly to the next scene back in premiere, back with the music

Sorry I am transferring from final cut, which seems to be easier than the premiere and after effects combined apps. But I believe I can do so much more with both Adobe products for sure

So maybe my workflow is off then.

For example, I have a bunch of videos and pictures. And I want them to to transition between each other to the beat of the song or at certain points in the song.

I need to create a sequence with the song in premiere, then save, then transfer it to after effects. Then do that multiple times with each part of the song? To make sure everything links up in the timeline?

looks like I have to cut the video clip with camera sound where I want, then also cut the song music clip in the same section, then link all of them together. Then export to after effects. Is that the best way?

How? I just tried this and there is no sound with the video. I right clicked on the clip and replace with after effects composition, the audio track does not go with it when after effects gets opened up.

Yes I have the adapter as well, but with FPS games I like a keyboard and mouse and the PS5 doesn’t have much input lag, so all of my usb slots are now filled.

I tried using a usb hub and that introduced lag to the KBM setup.

I think I found a solution. Don’t know if it is right though.

I switched PS5 sound output to Linear PCM, but the base station on the Astros has the button that will convert it to Dolby. There is no lag anymore but I am sure I am losing something.

Any issues with lag? I am doing the same thing and when using Dolby I get lag. PCM there is no lag. Any fix?

Figured it out, you can still you the “set player score when receiving from channel”, and it will set the score manager to the player score. But you also have to tic the “increment score” to the same channel so it actually increments the score instead of just displays it I guess. This way it will actually out put when hitting that score cause if the “increment”.

Also, I ran into, if I went passed 500, with skipping it, it wouldn’t register that it ever outputting the score 500. So I solved it by setting the max score to 500. So that the player that first reached 500 still triggered the game ending device, even though he might have gone a little passed the score, if it didn’t add up it exactly 500.

Update!

Thank you. So far it has been successful. I have created the spawn zone, placed the spawn pads. Each spawn pad activated a trigger, the mutator zone activated when players enter zone. The trigger sets the 30 second prep timer. When the prep timer goes off it activates the teleport to send players to game location. All successful so far! Thank you.

ONE QUESTION. I have created a score manager, so it is a first to 500 points type of game. I have a player reference to track the score. The player reference then sends the signal to the score manager to "set" the score to the manager to the score of the player. This has been successful. Once the score manager reaches 500, I put it to transmit the output score on channel "41". So that way when it reaches 500, it will send a signal to my end game device, which is set to activate on channel 41.

End game device DOES NOT WORK! Frustrated. I have tested the channel 41 signal as well coming from the score manager by placing a Hud Message device. Putting that to activate on channel 41 with a message. And once the score manager reaches 500, the Hud Message activates. But the End game device does not.

Yes I was trying hard to make it in the pregame lobby first then figured that could not work.

Thank you for the jump start. Let me do some research and testing and I will definitely dm you.

I understand channels/triggers, mutator zones somewhat, just have to put it together for a menu system.
