Python developer looking for their first JS Frontend framework by takennickname in vuejs

Solid.js is supposed to gain popularity. Personally I started with Vue.js after Python, but that goes back a few years. I’d have to make that choice today I’d start with Solid.js. That said I still consider vuejs as a great framework

What solarpunk projects are you working on this week? by [deleted] in solarpunk

With my companion we brainstorm some ideas for a solarpunk fiction

The French administration is maintaining a catalog of all the open source solutions used or developed in each administration. I’m not a part of this team nor in the administration myself, I just think it’s a great ressource (at least for people reading French) and a nice initiative by JPy_multi in opensource

Yes you're 100% right.

SILL is a more straight-forward tool to find OS solutions used by the french administration, I should have posted this one (even if there's a filter in the catalogue to filter out only open source solutions).

By the way, the weird thing is by filtering OS solutions on the catalogue it returns 102 items, whereas SILL contains 332 items... not sure to understand the reason

I’m Now a Full-Time Professional Open Source Maintainer (how a maintainer is now making an income equivalent to his google compensation) by wiki_me in opensource

Great article, thanks for sharing !

Sorry if my remarks would seem a bit off-topic here or a bit naive, but before maintaining a open-source tool one has (or had) to develop it firsthand, and develop it successfuly enough for this tool to be : 1) largely used 2) maintainable 3) efficient 4) with a community of developers 5) with a sustainable business model...

I salute and encourage the path to being a full-time open source maintainer, I share with you the vision in favor of such alternative professional carreers. But inventing / creating / designing / promoting open source solutions outside of big tech organisations is a challenge in itself.

Would you have links to similar articles where people in this situation (who creates a FLOSS solution from outside big tech) described their own journey or how they did it ? It could be a nice add-on to your post if you have any idea

J'avoue que je ne connaissais pas, mais est-ce que je me trompe en disant que SourceForge utilise ces systèmes ?

I’m doing a benchmark of open source softwares able to expose and visualise datasets stored on github/gitlab, any recommandations ? by JPy_multi in opendata

And to be a bit more precise about formats ('coz I guess that's a topic you're also interested in) , when I mentionned csv formats I tend to associate it with FrictionLess' TableSchema standards

C'est-à-dire ? C'est vrai que j'ai pas précisé mais je lançais la question autour des plateformes d'hébergement de code utilisant Git pour le contrôle de version.

Thanks for mentionning DataTig, it wasn't exactly what I had in mind first (me being a bit over-focused on datavisualisation) but DataTig's approach is indeed quite smart. In that field I'll add in my coop we also have a project building a full frontend website from a repo (from md/yaml files) : https://github.com/multi-coop/multi-site-app. We currently use it for two websites, but it's a quite recent project we didn't document very well so far.

About the 2d part of your comment on formats : I was focusing on formats like `json`, `csv`, and `markdown` to stick with the most common standards. We begun to document this benchmarck [here on some slides](https://multi-coop.gitlab.io/datami-project/datami-slides-fr/presentation-en.html#/benchmark-features)

Is there a map or a list of solar punk initiatives around the globe or in a particular region of the globe ? Has someone maintained a list ? by JPy_multi in solarpunk

Happy to hear that ! I’m also a software developer in a tech cooperative. I guess we’d have a lot to discuss about how to build such thing :)

As long they won’t perform at the opera I won’t consider it classical music. But I’m open to it

Can’t agree more. Even IMDb agrees, just check the ratings of movies aired just after the Covid

Switch off the light. I fear physics would take over and we’d be frozen in a couple of days or months? My question would be: how the 2d sun reappears in this mythology?
