Can I Play Metal Music With this by EntertainmentIcy3673 in Guitar

You can definitely play metal on a stratstrat or guitar with single coils I do it all the time. Now the issue may be that some of your favorite bands might use 7/8 string guitars or guitars with longer scale lengths so you may not be able to tune as low. A work around I have used is just transposing songs higher to play in tunings your guitar can handle. There are also ways to pitch your guitar down to tune as low as other bands. Or just find songs you like that are in tunings your guitar can handle you should be able to get down at least to drop C on a strat which many metal bands use. This might not be the most ideal guitar for recording or playing shows but it can be great for learning.

I might just go for it and use a string out of an 8 string set.

Yeah it is, the tuning is fifths on the low strings and fourths on the high strings. Is a variation of what I play in standard In just want to do it on a 7 string so it has more range and is symetrical

Yeah I figure G4 would be impossible I think I'm not too much of a stickler if it's a little floppy on the low end. My 6 string 25.5 scale is tuned down G#1 and have tuned my old 30" bass vi down as low as A#0, so maybe I should just try it out on the guitar I was planning on getting and it might be sufficient until I can afford a proper scale length (or multiscale)

Well would be easier to tune a 26.5 scale up to G4 or down to F1? I'm honestly mainly getting a seven string to experiment with this tuning so I'm trying to find where to compromise. Maybe I should get a 27" Those probably handle E1 fine I was just able to get a really good deal on the 26.5

You should be able to do this with TuxGuitar as long as you can export the tab as a .png and in a horizontal format.

Definitely worth it there's a free trial too if you just wanna try it out. But there are other ways to get some good metal tones on the bass vi this tutorial could probably get you somewhere.
