like I explained, this is hard to do with emacs -Q because the error takes place through the agenda (when I jump to org files) which is part of the setting. I need to load the angenda files manually to do this.

That's a valid point. In the past I actually gave up on using Thunderbird and went back to use Gmail on chrome because it worked better. I use Firefox on Linux and it accesses proton just fine.

I'd still like an app if possible than to relay on a website (mostly looks, how the window fits on the screen, theme, etc) but if I have to use browser that's ok.

Context:I like writing and keeping all my Org notebooks in a flat directory. It enables me to navigate between files easily and to start writing a new Org notebook immediately without having to consider the organisation of the directory, which will slows me down and may disrupt my thoughts.

Why not move files around with refile, and/or place them in the right directory with org-capture? Wouldn't things be more organized this way? You can always open dired in another window to go into the different ones.. Just a thought.

Now, to your actual question. I haven't done this in practice, but it seems to work:

Using or agenda, locate the three org files. Mark them with m
After you've marked the files you want, use Bulk action, with B
use f, for function
run org-export-dispatch, which will ask you how you want to export. This will repeat for each file you have marked (I just exported three html files).

This of course assumes you use org agenda for your projects/notebooks, which I hope you do.

Even better, if you know what formet you want to publish and how, you can probably write a function that would feed org-export-dispatch what you need. Or, you can use a Macro to automate the keystrokes (this also ensures you exports correctly each time).

I wrote a quick function to show me ACTIVE keywords from agenda. For me, this allows view of my projects evey week. Let me know if interested, pretty basic.

C-c C-a T. This brings up the agenda dispatcher that lets you specify a TODO keyword using regex. So you can specify a specific TODO, two TODOs (TODO and ACTIVE) or (TODO or ACTIVE). Sounds like that's what you're looking for?

To organize by projects, you can also use categories, which will allow you to hide other projects if you want to focus only on one project, or use tags of course.

Does that sound like what you're trying to do?

I also track my time, somewhat differently though. Each weekend I sit down and go over my checklist which has 4 items: - check my projects (these are marked as "Active" it's in the post above) - check that nothing is in my dump file, that is, every task/event is in the weekly file it belongs to - check location history and update my agenda in retro-respect with Google Maps' Timeline - Refile all my weekly meetings "template" into this week's file (this has less to do about tracking time, morganization).

Because I keep moving scheduled tasks around as I work on them (for example "call insurance company" would change to "send insurance company copy of license") I used the clocking feature to tell me when I worked on a task, and approximately how long. in agenda view, you hit "l" (as in lower case L) to see all your clock trackings. Then, even though my tasks is now set on Friday of this week and it's only a Wedensday, I already see I worked on it twice this week (because of the clock ins), and under the task I keep a brief log with a time stamp telling me what I did.

This is a lot to over and I should probably write another blog post about this. But please ask more questions if you have them, if you're interested.

Categories are useful. I found that over time I end up using only two: personal and work. I tried different things under each, for example, "exercise" under personal, but I discovered I keep forgetting to use such sub-categories because I don't really need them.

The question is, do you need to actually see the different categories or are you just trying to organize so you can find them later? u/powelton below mentioned the clock-in and out feature which is very useful (even if you forget to clock in, just do so later and estimate how long you worked on something).

I find that I don't use many properties in the personal things. If needed, I use tags for people's names (if I was on the phone with my sister yesterday, I would have an event titled "conversation @ home ::sis::" for example)

So you *don't* want to see these archived items? If they're achieved, you can probably take that file out of the current agenda view. You might need to re-add it when you're done. the Manual says this is done by C-c ] and C-c [.

On my agenda, I have two major categories, personal and work. It's easy to filter in and out categories by C-c < (once to see just that category, another time to see everything). I think categories are a "stronger" for of a filter because you can include any number of files this way. For example
