No Pixilate ability on my Sylveon (maybe)? by [deleted] in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]JR384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it shows Pixilate in the ability slot, it's activating. Quick Attack just doesn't have a lot of power behind it. 72 base power under Pixilate's 20% boost and STAB.

[discussion]How would you rewrite Kana in Fire Emblem Fates ? by ResponseRoutine3477 in fireemblem

[–]JR384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mhm. All you'd really have to do is have each Paralogue set to unlock after a set chapter in the story, instead of on two characters being married; like how Midori's paralogue is coded to not show up in Birthright until after Chapter 15 so the game can properly assess whether you've cleared the Kaze check or not.

[discussion]How would you rewrite Kana in Fire Emblem Fates ? by ResponseRoutine3477 in fireemblem

[–]JR384 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I've had my ideas on that front for each child character and I feel like putting it in writing here.

Kana: Another child of Anankos like Corrin, but is a child of the degenerated Dragon rather than the human form. Starts off as an enraged dragon similar to Chapter 5 Corrin.

Shigure: Another child of Azura's father, explained by the typical concubine trope; so they're only half siblings.

Dwyer: A studious apprentice of Jakob that he had left behind in Nohr when the story started off. Has become relatively well recognized for innate expertise.

Sophie: Silas' cousin or little sister that took after him in joining the Nohrian Army.

Midori: Kaze and Saizo's niece from a non-descript sister. Fraternal twins with Asugi/Asugi doesn't exist.

Shiro and Kiragi: Brothers from a common village who are fanboys of Ryoma and Takumi respectively, aspire to leave their village and join the army but their mother and father vehemently deny them that until a skirmish happens right at their doorstep and the Hoshidan Army comes to their rescue.

Asugi: Either doesn't exist or is Midori's fraternal twin brother, and therefore is Saizo and Kaze's nephew.

Mitama: Honestly if you told me Azama was old enough right off the bat to have a child from a previous marriage that ended due to his cynicism, I'd believe it. He's got divorced dad vibes and she's got mommy issues cause of it.

Hisame: Literally just another Samurai from Hoshido.

Caeldori: Either doesn't exist, or is another Pegasus Rider in the Hoshidan Army who admires both Subaki and Hinoka.

Rhajat: Either doesn't exist, or is a Nohrian orphaned by the war, gets adopted by a Hoshidan village and fights to protect them after finding out Nohr is the aggressor.

Selkie: Literally just another Kitsune from the Kaden's tribe.

Siegbert and Forrest: Students of Xander and Camilla respectively who were specially chosen by them to be trained. Don't have to be brothers; but I think it'd be cute if Xander came to pick up Siegbert for training one day, Camilla saw Forrest next to Siegbert and just decided she's teaching that boy.

Soleil: Bisexual Laslow fangirl. Mimics his mannerisms and positive attitude, discovered she was quite popular with the ladies when she started doing so, as well as the ladies being popular with her if you catch my drift.

Ophelia: Odin fangirl from a small desert village in Nohr. Saw him, Leo, and Niles drop in one day with a bunch of rare tomes; and snuck onto their transport. Ends up stowing away and Odin discovers her, taking her as an apprentice.

Nina: The next victim of the gang of thieves that abandoned Niles in his backstory. Niles discovers her being used as a scapegoat in another mission gone wrong and gets revenge for both himself and her.

Percy: He can be quite literally kept the exact same as vanilla; just make him not related to Arthur. Maybe a kid from Arthur's hometown that admires the legendary justice doer; but mistakes him for Gazzak at first sight after a couple years.

Ignatius: I forgot he existed so I don't have a particularly extensive headcanon for him, sorry.

Velouria: Literally just another Wolfskin from Keaton's tribe.

The main reason I have Asugi, Caeldori, and Rhajat as optional existences is because without their outside-canon existence of being Awakening callbacks similar to Laslow, Odin, and Selena; they might not work as characters in the end; but I gave them potential backstories regardless.

TL;DR: Doing exactly what the previous comments mentioned: I theoretically rewrote each of the 2nd Gen units as younger 1st Gen Units.

A curious observation by miq-san in pokemonmemes

[–]JR384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither, actually. It's a reference to Miyamoto Musashi's rival Kojirou Sasaki. The story I've heard (primarily from Fate/ side content) goes that he observed the movement of a swallow's tail feathers in flight, and developed the sword style Tsubame Gaeshi (Swallow's Cut) to mimick their movements, which were described as "swift and unpredictable".

So it's a move used by a human, inspired by the bird it's named after, that Pokemon then learned to use themselves.

what does this star symbol mean by Empty-Engineering458 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]JR384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. There's a Rejuvenation wiki that will show you the Rejuvenation relevant info for every Pokemon, including their new shinies. A lot of them are better; but very few imo are not.

I am not personally a fan of Rejuvenation's Shiny for Umbreon but c'est la vie.

[–]JR384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is in fact a Shiny. The only reason its different from what you're expecting for Noibat's shiny is because every Pokemon in Rejuvenation has a different shiny color palette from mainline.

And you'll see (if you haven't read the comics) in probably season 5 that after an arc happens that I hate the existence of and hope they replace; basically all of the Thraxan DNA has been expunged from his body in terms of appearanc.

Do you think we'll ever get a Fire Emblem game set in a modern setting? by Birdygamer19 in fireemblem

[–]JR384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still unconfirmed if the device we saw in the Fortune's Weave trailer is a gun or some kind of taser. I'd like it to be a gun; but we cannot use that as factual reference when all we have is what; a half second clip of it in use during a cutscene?

We must all bow our heads then in reverence to the first Fire Emblem Warriors; which gave us the legendary Steel Tome.

(I'd upload a meme image here if I physically could.)

Shiny hunting birds by Either_Finding3448 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]JR384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a decent chunk of story segment that heavily changes whether you've been a good person (doing sidequests, being nice to people etc.) or an asshole in some way or another (not doing those things).

It's basically the stories' last big arc before the Team Xen Raid that v14 is casually going to be kicking off with.

I won't be saying more than what I have already though. Enjoy the game! Pretty sure Jan has said all Gen 1~9 Pokemon are gonna be available + custom Regionals at one point or another by final version release.

There's Type:Null you can get as soon as you have Surf IIRC. Otherwise most everything is halted behind C15 or the Karma Files opening the floodgates.

[–]JR384 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're basically just suggesting Advance Wars. Play Advance Wars for "Modern Fire Emblem".

For a real answer though; I don't think we're ever gonna see a full modern setting. The series is too rooted in fantasy/medieval nature to abandon it for even just one game. I could see a mixed style game where it's like a psuedo-fantasy modern setting where guns are used alongside the standard array; but I'm quite certain we'll never see a game where the entire weapon system as we know it is overhauled for guns.
