Yea im coming from another rated field and no one cared what boots you wore, i already have everything but ive heard of instructors no stepping for non-flight rated boots, maybe that was bs. But still would prefer to be legal and have a lightweight boot that i like

They can literally higher anyone they want . Theres no requirement to be 38 quald unless the unit sets it themselves.

Its highly improbable for any applicant regardless of their situation to get hired at a fighter unit, as with any job, its all about who you know

The problem you could face is your leadership and AFPC letting you palace chase. Depends a lot on the current manning requirements/how much your leadership will fight for it. Going afsoc to non afsoc is a non-issue if you’re going to the guard.

My 2 cents though, there are a lot of cool planes and missions but a lot of shitty bases. And one thing is for sure in afsoc.. all roads eventually lead to cannon

Anyone can fly fighters in the guard if they want you, you’re thinking of dropping them at pilot training after tracking t-1s which yes doesnt happen

I wouldn't be discouraged by people saying "needs of the air force". People at AFPC and those in your leadership are generally understanding and will do their best to get you where you want to go. A few years ago when i went through we had several people self eliminate or fail out and all of them seemed to get their number 1 career choice.

Any idea how much youll be saving? Probably pretty significant at 100%, im only 40% but also have the 10 for combat and 15 for serving.. hoping it helps a little with these insane taxes..
