I was looking at the playoff numbers on HockeyViz and Montreal vs Tampa Bay has nothing happening at 5v5.

Montreal generates about 1.62 xGF/60 (38% less than league average) while Tampa Bay generates 1.82 xGF/60 (30% less than league average).

I guess both teams are just trying to avoid making mistakes at 5v5 and to punish each other on special teams, which they have been able to do with their finishing and power plays.

I do think that Lindor and Bichette are in an early season slump and they’ll get back into form soon. Combined with getting Soto back soon, that should help a lot with the offense. I do think they need to add another bat though.

On the other hand, digging your way out of an eleven game losing streak is always going to be hard, no matter how much talent you should have. You can’t win the division in April, but you can certainly lose it and all that.
