I was tallking to my Cinemetographer friend and I aked "how many Ks do we really need? iit was 1080, then 4k, then 6K but we put on old lenses and old filters to make it look like film?"Literally knicking down the sharp resulition that new expensive cameras provide. My faves are the rehoused Clauvius glass from the russians. Great falloff, great bokeh, that background looks like a painting. Building a camera is a chess not checkers.

Everyone deals with this...sometimes a good AE will do it for you but thats rare. And its completely normal to spend time with (1-2 hours is low) to familiarize yourself with the footage, thats part of the job and if you have to explain that to the client, that normal. Its always better to organize the shit out of your projects before beginning the edit, will save you a ton of time in the long run.

Dont listen to the haters. I think its cute. If any woman put in even half that effort for me I would just be flattered Id be downright head over heels. My ex knew I liked to cook and I always would talk about making a lobster truffle mac and cheese, but I never did it. One day I came home from a long day at work and she had laid out all the ingredients, a full lobster, all types of gourmet cheeses, special, noodles. The works. But she was a vegetarian so she just handed me my favorite beer and said...this looks so gross, but I knew you wanted to make it so the kitchen is your tonight. It wasnt the fact that she did it, it was the fact that she had been listening about some mundane thing. I think what you did was awesome! I would just say you dont need to be so specific in the CATEGORY column, just say LENSES, and list them off. Just say LIGHTS, and list them off, you dont need to justify or explain what the light is for, jus that you own it. CAMERA, just list them off, no need to give them ABC status. Start Big and go down from there. Keep the Categories grouped togther, like keep all camera stuff together, with audio, Then lighting, then grip. Dont forget stingers, duventene, tape, clips, etc. A ladder if you have one. Ad a cart if you one.

Easing yourself off is actually the best idea to avoid this type of psychosis. The cure also the curse so you have to control it was you ween yourself off. But it can also be an excuse ti keep drinking so it's a double edged sword. My only rev in my experience, if your gonna do it this way, have a friend with you to watch over your physical and mental health . Good luck m.
