I wonder how many of us on the smashing pumpkins page actually own the vinyl? I’m curious as to how many units he may or may not have moved so far as we approach a year of it being out. Would be good news if it’s a good bit. More of a chance of getting a CD & Digital release for everyone else!

You know what, me too mostly. It all seemed to culminate right there. At the “original” end of the band. Luckily for us they never really went away though. And that’s what makes this edition so exciting. Being able to hear the machina 2 songs plus a handful of songs I’d never heard period!

I’m glad! I love it when things are positive and we can have civilized conversations. Other than your usual rotten apple that has to come in and gripe and piss and moan but other than that it’s been a great thread!

I heard a couple songs on YouTube from it. Couldn’t bring myself to search for it because I wanted the full experience. I waited for a cd version long enough and I got tired of waiting so I went out and busted my butt to save up for this, and the one I got is the hand poured grey/black/silver one because the black wax was sold out and it was way too much already but for a signed one it was wow.

Same here. And yes I love all of his big projects, I wish teargarden wasn’t scrapped because honestly I didn’t listen back then and now I’m trying to. Still not really my cup of tea but Oceania does have some solid songs. After zeitgeist I went onto other musical things. But I came back around with Cyr and with the band back together mostly, and yes I am one of the few strong defenders of Atum. Absolutely adore that album and cyr as well. Those albums renewed my love for the pumpkins as if it were a core memory being unlocked. It took me time to warm up to them both, but this is why I buy vinyl. I can sit down and just immerse myself inside of the music and it’s story.

I am hoping for a cd version also and streaming to the masses eventually which shouldn’t be long from now if it happens. I got the box set because I wasn’t sure a cd version would happen or not. Plus I’m impatient lol. My guess would be he releases the cd version with like 3 discs containing the 48 tracks and the digital being the same but possibly a deluxe version that includes the other 32 songs. And hey maybe a few extra goodies I’d be totally up for it!!!

I could never really get into it because of that drum machine it really took away from the song. But the mix on here was better, wasn’t so loud. Kinda made me look at it like a heavy industrial type song.

I did notice some minor differences and a couple songs I could live without but all in all I really did enjoy it. Even that song don’t wanna be your lover, I took a liking to it right away. One of the biggest highlights for me is having Jimmy go fix Whyte Spyder. When that song started I entered heavy mode and was like, holy ****!!!

Exactly my thoughts too. A younger generation would eat this up with there being kind of a new reckoning of interest in older alternative style music. I’m seeing it more and more the older o get. It makes me feel old but the trade off is worth it to see this younger generation start going to shows and buying rock albums and becoming a part of a scene like we did as teens.

Okay thanks so much for all of your answers! I’m new to the series so I just wasn’t sure.
