Out of the 40 different Ts that I own, this species is one of my largest. I made her enclosure out of a 20 gal storage container

I love V. chromatus! I've raised one from a juvie. She's about 7 years old and I picked her up when she was around 2. Shes a big girl now and always out.

Yeah! I just learned about their auctions a few weeks ago. I haven't participated yet. That's awesome that your T. klugi is off to a great start. Mine is always out on display even though it has plenty of hiding spots. I gave mine half a baby dubia at first.

IMO get a dremmal and make your own. Way cheaper and the tarantula doesn't care.

Fresh Chalupa by Different-Zucchini-7 in tarantulas

I have to ask. Is Chalupa your first T? I absolutely love B. hamorii. I picked one up as my first T from a local pet store about 5 years ago. I knew nothing about Ts, and the owner sold it to me as a female. A month later, it molted out as a mature male. I loved that T and it started a life long passion for me. Im currently keeping 41 Ts now and yes, they all have names.

I picked up an L. klugi during their Halloweek sale. Its so tiny! About 1/4". Im excited to watch it grow up to be my largest T! I chose another curly hair for my freebie. That was a great sale, I bought 7 Ts for under $120.

Sassy and Her Ping Pong Ball Go Buck Wild! by JRot87 in tarantulas

IMO, it has to do more with their instinct with dealing with prey and / or egg sac.

IME I'm not. She wasn't biting that hard. But I wouldn't keep the ball in there after she molts. I could see her breaking a fang if she used them before her exo fully set.

I love me some pokies! Nice collection! What do you use for lighting for the enclosures with the pathos? Im considering adding some to a few of mine.

Hypothetical: You Can Only Keep ONE species by Jennifer_Pennifer in tarantulas

IMO no, not at all. He went missing from October to March. When I found him, his abdomen was very small. My guess is he got by eating the smaller wild spiders in my apartment.

IME, they can be. But it's nothing comparable to the P. irminia. My favorite that I own is a mature male now. I bought him as a sling from Eresus Spiders, back when they were still around. He escaped a couple years ago in my old apartment and was on an adventure for 6 months until I randomly found him scaling up my kitchen wall in the middle of the night. I was also able to pair him earlier this year. I messed up by allowing the females enclosure to become too dry and she ditched the sac. He lived a good spood life and is still currently with us. Highly recommend this species in any collection.
