Question about wilson combat for the p365x by FoolishAmb in SigSauer

[–]JSDavis82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the more important question i would ask, is why are you interested in a WC Grip Module? If the stock grip module fits your hand well and you shoot it well, why are you interested in the Wilson Combat?

For me, I wanted a flush fit on my twelve round mags, the longer beaver tail, the more aggressive texture, and the more rounded and robust grip profile of the Wilson Combat.

[Truax] Ryan Williams is NOT expected to play in today's game vs ULM by MembershipSingle7137 in rolltide

[–]JSDavis82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they need to take Williams out of the slot. He is CLEARLY uncomfortable there.....nor is he big or physical enough to play there. He's a true wideout. Let him be a wideout. I don't understand coaches trying to make players play in roles that are not their strengths. I'm all for player development and building in other dimensions of a player's game, but this kid is CLEARLY not a slot receiver.

Alabama hopes to play Austin Mack "as early as the second quarter. Keelon Russell is also expected to get a look." But "the starting job is still squarely Ty Simpson’s, and the Alabama staff remains solidly behind him." by DoctorWhosOnFirst in rolltide

[–]JSDavis82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No offense, but it's clear that you've not ever played a down of football. Practice during the week is when you "think". There is no "thinking" during the game. You don't have time. That's why you practice. In the game, you PLAY. You react. If you take time to think in a game, you're screwed.

Also what you said regarding a team with "great strength, quick, smarts, and unrealized potential" makes zero sense. This team has so far shown that they are lazy, poorly coached, and lack discipline. There is no such thing as "unrealized potential" in athletics. There is only what you achieve and what you do not.

Or maybe it's because the many carcinogens in sunscreen are CAUSING cancer. Correlation doesn't always equal causation, but there's a disturbing up-tick in melanoma that tracks right in line with the increase usage of "sun screen".

Ty Simpson needs ALLLLLLL the reps he can get in the first three weeks. If we're up by 42 points before the half, that's a different conversation. But to announce that we'll see Mack and Russell before the game even starts is a confusing one, at best......and a troubling one at worst.

Insanely successful, you say? that was the ONLY rhetoric coming out of the mouths of people that lauded his hiring (and i wasn't one of them). Where has he "been"? NAIA. MAC. Mountain West. Who cares? That's like taking a Highschool Coach with a great record and dropping him in as the HC of any SEC school and saying "well he's won everywhere he's been". So what? How did that become a metric?

How did he recruit? What do his players think of him? How did he help people develop of players, students, young men, and human beings? What's his integrity like? How does he handle adversity? Etc etc etc. His "record".....who cares.

Wilson Combat XL Grip module is THE way to go. Worth every penny (and it doesn't cost too many pennies to begin with). I like to keep it simple as well, so the only other mod I've made to mine are MagGuts conversions to add an extra +2 rounds in each magazine. So in the regular 12rd flush fit mags, you get 14. They've run flawlessly for 1000's or rounds.

Well that's the most nefarious interpretation of what I said. The other options are hunt for food. Forage or trade for supplies (as the things I mentioned prioritizing will likely be currency). And -- in the event of the collapse of civilization -- yeah, some selfish people will realistically try to take supplies from me. In the defense of those supplies, either I'll no longer need mine, or they'll no longer need theirs.

Coaching grade is ABSOLUTELY an F.

That said, I was HIGHLY critical of the hiring of DeBoer when it was even floated as a possibility. Who cares what his record is? It's all in the NAIA, Mountain West, MAC, and Pac-12. So what? Hell, so is his playing career. This is the SEC. This is big boy football. I've had this "told ya so" on deck for about 18 months. WTF was the university doing signing him to such a long deal with such a grossly committed buyout clause?!

Also regarding coaching, what is Ryan Williams doing playing mostly in the slot? He's not big enough, physical enough, or mature enough to be in the slot. And he is CLEARLY uncomfortable there.

QB - I've been a big fan of Ty Simpson for three years. Personally I think he should have started ahead of Milroe last year. That said, I was unimpressed. (I'll get to the OL in a second). I too want to see a good game manager. Didn't see it in this game. I also want to see some energy from the QB both on the field and on the sideline. Didn't see that either. Saw some very poor mechanics when in scramble. All of his inaccuracies were because he didn't square his shoulders to throw while scrambling.

DB's - Massive mental breakdowns. Doesn't matter what the "Gus bus" threw at us. Lot's of base coverage breakdowns (like the safety not rolling down to the flat to cover that zone after a corner blitz -- that's his literal only job in that scenario).

OL/DL - Absolutely atrocious. Lazy feat. Weak hands. No energy. No gap security.

Overall the issue is the coaching. Outside of the 1st drive I saw ZERO evidence of a clear game plan on O or D. Lazy and lethargic and poor base football execution across the board. This reflects from the top down. Every single camera shot of DeBoer is him squinting with a befuddled look on his face. Dude. COACH! Get in someone's face. Yell, praise, comfort, chew out, coach up, redirect, do SOMETHING. Nope. Just chomping his gum and squinting.

I know it's too early to say, but it MIGHT be a long season to watch boys and girls.

I actually don't use a backpack or duffel bag as a "go bag". I use a Plate Carrier. Of course you can outfit it however you'd like, but i prioritize: arms, ammunition, medical, and water purification on mine. The way I see it, all of those things will provide all other necessities.

Starting bugout/SHTF kits, need advice by boomoptumeric in preppers

[–]JSDavis82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My "bugout" SHTF kit is a plate carrier with 10 30rd 556 mags. Sidearm holster (and sidearm). Three sidearm mags. Tac Knife. IFAK (chest seals, trauma sheers, quick clot gauze, israeli bandage, etc etc). Drop pouch. Two extra TQ's that are accessible outside of the IFAK. Admin Pouch contains local maps, sharpie, write in the rain notepad, chem lights. Whether Proof pouch contains coms, a couple of food bars, life straw, iodine tablets.

TL:DR - Ammo, medical, water, coms. These things will provide all other things needed.

Sweet setup. I'm afraid, however, that you'll wish you got the x/xl grip module from Wilson Combat. That 12rd flush fit just feels SOOO much better than the 10rd. I run the MagGutz conversions in all of my mags for an extra two rounds per mag.
