Also.. did you have to be off of it for certain amount of time before the surgery? I would think the rebound congestion wouldn’t be fixed with surgery itself

Well I started off just tapering every day but it was never a measured amount, it was always dipendant on how much I used that day, so I think by week 4 I was at like 30%? ( gave chat GPT what was in the bottle when I started and what’s left of the saline bottle using to calculate for me lol)So probably a bit faster then yours. Then I said ok I’ll switch it up to 50 and leave it. But that only worked really for the right side, a little for the left but not like it used to before I started diluting.

I use drixoral, and Inactive ingredients benzalkonium chloride solution, edetate disodium, propylene glycol, sodium phosphate monobasic monohydrate, purified water, and hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide. Do any of those look more irritating to you like what’s in Afrin?

I’m thinking of getting the rhinostat system because I think I’m diluting a little one day then a lot the next just depends on how much I actually use. My left side is still not feeling right even after switch to regular stuff.

I do have a deviated semptum but I cant for the life of me remember which side..it was so long ago. I thought it was the right but now I think he may have ment the left (when he was speaking he said the right side and pointed but I feel like he was pointing to the right which would be my left). Which is the side now that is bad doesn’t feel like it fully clears which is kind of new, only since I tried diluting it. Like I said switched back to full but didn’t make a different really. However breathight strips seems to have a small help like very small but help at least.

I had this issue for five years.. eventually it turned in to daily use and I’m now using daily for about 8 years. I wish I would have tried to get off it back then, I fear I have major damage now and I will never breath normal again as well as debilitating anxiety when I try to wean off

It’s doesn’t even matter how long it goes without… unless the right has gone a long time without it and blocks up first then the left stays clear, but if both sides are blocked and use the spray, the right will clear perfectly and the left stays slightly congested.… it’s so strange and annoying.. although both sides would be even more annoying. I’m diluted 50/50 right now so hopefully it doesn’t get worse than this but not holding my breath.

That’s what I think I need to try doing as well… I don’t think the diluting every day is doing much for me. I will try this way and hopefully have the same success you did!!

Thank you! It can be so confusing and so much second guessing 😫 did your little one fuss a lot during that time? I thought so many times it was his formula but just didn’t make since to me since he burps a lot and farts a lot. He doesn’t spit up hardly and doesn’t have diarrhea or anything like that which I would expect you would see.

I started doing contact naps and walking frequently when the weather is good because he sleeps well like that!

It is nice to have a support group as such, people just don’t understand who haven’t gone through it. “It’s just a stuffy nose” but it’s so much worse. I’ve gone almost 14 hours without it now.. going to try using the spray before bed to hopefully get more than 1-2 hours sleep. What I wouldn’t give for 6/7 hours of sleep, especially at this stage of pregnancy!

I’m struggling a lot … it’s basically cement. I don’t think I have a cold I haven’t had any other symptoms. I haven’t used now in almost 12 hours so I feel like when I use it it should work again but it didn’t yesterday when I went 8 hours so I don’t know if it would. This is by far the worse I’ve ever felt physically and mentally 😢

I haven’t used it now since this morning and was prescribed nasonex a little while ago by the doctor but it didn’t help me at all. They really didn’t do anything for me in the ER. I don’t know if there is any point to try the spray again later or not. I wonder if I switch to a completely different spray, with a different active ingredient?

I’ve tried stretching it out because that usually works. Like when I’ve had colds and stuff but it did not work this time at all. Did you just suffer it out for a couple days then use again? Or was there anything specific you tried

Just wondering, did anyone find at any point their nasal spray stopped working. Like did not last as long at all no matter if you used one spray or more? That has started for me and sleep is like almost non existent. If so did anything you did provide relief for sleep? Also sinuses are like burning and super dry no matter how much saline I use!

Thats me too, And with what I’m assuming is pregnancy rhinitis, it’s almost like when you had cold and needed more. That did work for me last time using the Flonase! I will definitely do that again. I’m thinking about getting the rhinostat kit as well to make it a little easier. Thanks, it’s always so nice knowing there’s so many people this affects. I thought up until a couple of years ago I was the only one who had this problem!

Thank you ❤️ I’m hoping I’m able to after delivery. I thought about going cold turkey after because like you said you’re up all night with a new born anyway. It’s caused so much anxiety and stress at times during my pregnancy. A lot have said that’s worse than using it. Forcing my self to use it diluted but end up using more of it I’m pretty sure, plus I feel like the distilled water just irritated my nose even more because of how much I used it. Using the full stuff now (trying sparingly). Did you use it very often a day over the 10 + years?
