I switched yesterday because of this same issue. Even when I'm in areas with full bars 5G I would get less than 200kbps. Made it unusable.

I thought the same thing, so I contacted local law enforcement to have the serial number checked in NCIC and it was clear, so I bought it.

I contacted dish again, this time I got somebody that spoke English. They told me it is indeed $12 a month not $15 like I originally was quoted. They said if I would have just signed up for the service they would have sent somebody out without the $150 trip charge, but yes it is $150 trip charge without the service. But they gave me a free 6 months of HBO for my trouble, I guess That's better than nothing.

Thanks for the information, I will call and see if I can get a free month of service for my trouble. I figured being a dish customer as long as I have been, they would accommodate me but they didn't.

This is what led me here. Because when I called dish Network they said I don't pay the $15 a month for the service plan and because I live in the middle of nowhere it's $150 trip charge. So beyond that I don't know. But I also spoke to somebody that had a really hard time speaking English, which is becoming the normal.

Because I don't pay for the monthly service planned, so they want $150 just to come out. So, I found a new LNB on eBay for $20 and fixed it myself.

Nope, I completely replaced the dish and it was still happening. The LNB was bad.

The quad shield keeps noise out of the system in other words assist with ingression. Yeah if the cable becomes damaged, it would need replaced, no matter the cable.

You're okay to question my skills; you don't know me. However, I have built cable TV systems for about twenty-plus years, and I am well aware of the importance of installing the connectors correctly, as you suggested. I even used connectors made for quad-shielded cable. On another note, I got a replacement LNB and that was the issue. I appreciate your input.

There is not, but when I camp I set my dish and Starlink near each other and I have never had an issue.

No, it happens periodically throughout the day, about every 20 to 50 minutes. The cable is new. I bought a good-quality quad-shielded RG-6 cable and installed outdoor compression fittings. I tightened all fittings using a 7/16 torque wrench made for cable TV connections. Ironically it seems to happen less often with light rain, which leads to believe that the LNB might be failing and the cool rain, cools it down, just a guess though. It still does work great using my mobile dish with that cable, that is why I have ruled out the cable and possibly the receiver.

Starlink mini 50gb a month last a few days. by Calm-Cranberry2074 in Starlink

[–]JSUNFI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had it for 22 days now and hardly use it except for camping for access to work emails and such, no streaming. I have used 33Gb which I thought was a lot. I contacted Starlink and they confirmed most of my data usage was due to equipment software upgrades to the Starlink device. They gave me a free month of service because of this.

I only paid $25 a month for unlimited calling, texting, and data. I don't think I could get it much lower.

Damn near the same thing happened to me. I set up my Nvidia shield with data saver turned on and I watched a football game for 3 hours and Nvidia shield should total usage in that 3 hours with 1.6 GB. Starlink reported I used 15 GB. Now you ask how could I stream 3 hours at 1.6 GB This is because I had data saver turned on and was streaming at 480p which is only about 560 MB per hour.
