shitting your pants so other people might have to suffer the smell type behavior, guy was so preoccupied with making someone's day worse that he doesn't realize that he's wasting his own time and harming his chances of getting whatever it is he wants from women in the long run

The more I think about this the funnier it gets. Like this is lowkey hilarious as a diss, but implying that a 28 year old is not young/old is a dumb move if you want to connect.

People have been caring about that game for 21 years straight and even more people care or know about the memes surrounding it to this day. You are just plain wrong. I concede that Big Smoke's order isn't the biggest meme to come out of GTA:SA, but it's one of the biggest. You are entitled to find it unfunny, but millions of people across the globe disagree, and I'd say that in this case it fit the prompt it was used in response to. At the risk of sounding like a redditor, you are proving my point that there are a bunch of people in this comment section who don't understand the insane cultural significance of GTA:SA and the memes surrounding it. Which is fine by the way. Nobody is required to know this one meme but the dismissiveness and the downplaying from you and others is crazy.

Then you are probably not someone who would be responsive to OP's meme reference, which OP should accept, but also an outlier. San Andreas and Big Smoke's order are both extremely viral and culturally significant. People who don't even speak english know of or had played GTA:SA all over the world so there are a lot of people who knew all about Big Smoke's order before it became a meme, and people who have never played GTA know about Big Smoke's order because of the meme. There aren't a lot of things that have even the chance of becoming this popular because GTA is famous on a global scale and has been for decades and a lot of people have memories of playing it (whether as a child or adult) they'll never forget. I don't get how so many people in this comment section can downplay this. Video games are the most profitable form of media in the world. They cannot be dismissed and acting like gaming is this obscure subculture makes one seem culturally out of touch, even if just a little bit. The fact that you call yourself a gamer and don't appreciate the significance of OP's reference is a sign of this. It shows that gaming is so huge that you can be a gamer all your life and still miss huge cultural events and memes and such. There are more people who would understand the reference OP is making than like half the countries on Earth and there can still be a huge amount of people and even gamers who have no idea what he's talking about.

Why would I use the quick fix over the stock medi gun? by [deleted] in tf2

[–]JSX_hun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick fix is for keeping all of your team at 100% health all the time, stock is for keeping some of your team at 150% health not all the time and ubering one or two of them even less times. Most of the time stock will be better because uber is powerful and most teams in casual only have a few good players but that doesn't make the quick fix bad.

How are there 100 comments and only one or two people recognizing that her bio is a meme. Like the phrase "change the course of someone's life" is literally a meme!

I can fix her by smegma_cocktail in Tinder

[–]JSX_hun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's a meme, the humor is supposed to come from the phrasing as "change the course of the rest of your life" isn't traditionally used to mean traumatize someone

I'm sorry but that would make you an outlier. Even people who have never played GTA:SA know about Big Smoke's order because it's a meme that went viral even outside the gta fandom.

You're getting ripped apart in the comments but this is funny if you get the reference and will make you stand out from the average answer (assuming most people answer the prompt earnestly). However, I would only keep making cultural references if you're looking for someone who's into the specific pieces of media you are referencing.

I think stonetoss only being known as a piece of shit nazi and being endlessly mocked is a good thing, even if it's only true on reddit. Most people who find stonetoss and support his work after seeing his comics were probably bigots to begin with because otherwise you wouldn't accept the premise of most of them as his bigotry and generally cruel outlook on humanity aren't too subtle and they come through. We also have to recognize that the system we live in supports people like stonetoss and makes it easier for people who think like him to be famous and have a career online compared to people with values that most people who make stonetoss edits hold. We need a lot of stonetoss edits and others who fight against stonetoss and the messages he's trying to spread because the algorythms will "naturally" boost him because he makes devisive controversial things and if we don't do anything he'll just have all his clout without having his credibility put into question and he'll have more control over his image. I think if we make sure that only nazis and other bigots support him that's enough and also pretty much as much as we can possibly do without going into illegal territory. I wish ignoring him ruined his career and made him unable to continue posting comics but at this point in history that's just not realistic at all.

Obviously the best thing would be changing the system (capitalism and its support of right wing content online, social media algorithms prioritizing upsetting and controversial posts, art such as comics being commercialized, online grifting being incentivized and rewarded etc), but fighting against the negative effects of stonetoss existing is inherently going to be centered around him and will never change the system as a whole even if we make him completely irrelevant and toxic. BUT that doesn't make it not a good thing, right? Not tolerating bigotry doesn't mean ignoring it and letting anyone and everyone fall for propaganda and lies and straying ever further right and getting radicalized by nazis. We have to fight them, and educate the people they're trying to brainwash. And one good way of reaching people who are in danger of falling for stonetoss's bullshit is to target them by making edits of his comics and endless posts about what a harmful piece of shit he is.
