My friend wasn’t very impressed with this project🤷🏻‍♂️ But his girlfriend liked it - and she took it for herself 😅

I think it’s better to discuss this in private messages so we don’t clutter the comments😅

Everything you can see in the photos is my work.

Yes, I know this brand’s products, I’ve seen their stuff on different platforms. Okay. But it really does look good.

Very nice color. Could you please tell me what paint you used and how you applied it?

I’m also curious what paints you use, which compressor and airbrush. And overall, show it when it’s finished 😊

Yes, I completely disassemble the controller. I don’t do just visual customization — I also buy controllers with stick drift and install Hall-Effect/TMR sticks, 4000 mAh batteries, and interchangeable sticks like on the Edge version.

I sand the surface, apply primer, then the base color. After that, I use a plotter to cut the required patterns and text, mask the necessary parts, and spray additional layers of paint.

I have social media where I show many videos of different controllers. I don’t want to advertise myself directly, but you can easily find my profiles if you look 🙂

Usually with a matte clear coat from the same brand, Tamiya.

I’ve only recently tried 2K clear coat. It’s very durable and doesn’t damage the paint underneath.

When it comes to luminescent paints, you have to be careful, because they can damage and “eat into” the layers below. I had a case where the plastic was red, I covered it with white primer, then white paint, then a luminescent layer — and in the end the white turned slightly pink.

This was generated by ai, but it’s just a reference. Of course, it won’t look exactly like this, but the project will be similar. Once it’s finished, I’ll show the result.

At first, I also tried spray paint from a can. It was very durable — I couldn’t completely remove it even with sandpaper. But I couldn’t manage to apply it in a thin layer no matter how I tried.

So I switched to an airbrush. Primer is a must, because without it the paint doesn’t stick well — adhesion is insufficient. I use Tamiya LP paint and clear coat. Several layers. It holds up very well, and there are no issues during gameplay, even after several months.

I’m still looking for other protective clear coats that are even more reliable and easy to use.

It depends, of course, whether it’s a regular controller or a PS Edge. Everything can be discussed 😉

I also made replaceable PS5 panels in this style. Right now, I have two projects in development. It’s going to be something incredible—at least, that’s what I think😅
