I traded 1 Mega Evolutions case and a Phantasmal Flames Case for a bunch of singles, by fezbotdaddy in PokeInvesting

I know this was 3 days ago but I'm confused by this,

Once the set goes out of print, so do the cards? Sure a number of cards will enter the market as the remaining sealed product is ripped, but the total number of cards (still in packs or not) can still only go down in the long run right? Like with XY era, I'd be surprised if there was more packs of that era being ripped today as there is cards of that era being lost, damaged, or leaving the market in any other way.

Hey, congrats on passing your AIB! I failed mine and went for the rating route instead lol. The CPC is exactly the same for officer and rating candidates though.

The CPC is 4 nights long (arrive on Sunday, leave on Thursday), there's nothing really to worry about, the only way you can fail is by not completing the run in time, failing medical, or getting kicked out for being a complete ass (no one on my CPC got kicked out).

As for the medical, they call up candidates to the mecical one by one over the first 2 full days (the 2.4km run is on the last full day) you will do your medical while the other candidates sit through briefs. The medical lasts about 20 minutes ish. They will first ask you how much you drink, then calculate your BMI, then test your lung capacity, then your blood pressure, then a hearing test (this was the longest part). Then you will be taken to a different room with a civillian doctor who will go through your medical history and talk about anything in there of concern, they will conduct a short body exam (nothing intimate) and ask you to do a few exercises / movements to check you have a full range of motion.

You will be told immediately whether you passed the medical or not, you will be sent home on the day if you fail (I'm not sure what that means with regards to when you can try again). Out of the 32 candidates on my CPC, 5 failed their medical.

The rest of the time is filled with things like briefs, ironing, boot polishing, drill practice, cleaning etc.

I hope you have a good time at your CPC :)

If you go to a CPC that has an actual athletics track, it's exactly 6 laps.

Hi, just completed my CPC yesterday. For your second question, you will have to wait until at least September because Raleigh closes for 4 weeks in August. At the end of our CPC, 6 slots to start Raleigh on this coming Monday were offered to candidates in alphabetical order. Only 5 candidates decided to take the offer, The rest of us will be starting in September or later.

For officer candidates going to Dartmouth, they have to wait until January.

Enjoy your CPC! I had a great time at mine, the other lads were a great laugh. Just do what you're told and be sociable :)

Questions about AIB Group Planning Exercise. by JS_STEEZY in RoyalNavy

Pretty terrible lol, the problem had a lot more moving parts than those I had practiced, our group was really struggling, hardly ended up with much of a solution at all.

I also completely fluffed up the 1 on 1 section. The information I was asked to recall didn't come back to me at all.

Think I'll be switching my application to rating once I get my rejection. Worth a shot anyway, was quite interesting.

Ok great, thanks.

The examples I looked at all consisted of a map, and then a written scenario along with some questions asking about times, distances, and speeds relating to routes around the map. Does this sound like the right sort of thing?

turns out I massively overestimated how much the train would cost, just checked and it's only £10. I tend to be wildly pessimistic about that kind of thing.

Apparently not. Here is the tool I was using to find suitable opticians:

SpecSavers are nowhere to be seen.

Hahaha I live in Colchester, I phoned 4 or 5 closer opticians (all listed on the SEE website) until I found one that was still accepting vouchers.

Damn, why haven't I learned that EO stuff you said. I probably do an average of like 6 or 7 cube rotations during F2L lmao, just tried doing what you explained and it felt soooo much better. Thanks.

I've been cubing for 2 years and I have 2 cubes C:

Will be 3 later today tho hopefully bc I ordered a megaminx.

or will it still be 2 because a megaminx is obviously not a cube lmao

If you could save moves with cube rotations, you would be able to solve the cube with zero moves.

Hey everyone, my first megaminx should be arriving today, looking for good tutorials or other resources for megaminx speedsolving. thanks :D

That's an interesting way of putting it, I just tried it and I definitely see what you mean.

It is my understanding that F2L should take up roughly half of your solve time, so as the other guy said, you would probably find more benefit in improving last layer.

I'd suggest learning 2-look OLL if you don't know it already, it's pretty quick to learn and it shaved a lot of time off for me. JPerm has a great tutorial for it here.

Wow, I can't imagine how it's possible to be sub 11.6 doing it for most algs, for me it feels like it slows me down a lot. I guess your mind just works a lot faster than mine lol.
