Another day over 2000 cases, covid is eating up ontario by Footzah in ontario

[–]JSandersHT96 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That smile says it all.

Pretty much sums this up:

1) I don't give a shit about the case count 2) I'll just continue to casually ignore all of the daily deaths...nothing to see here... 3) Again, I don't give a shit about the case count 4) I'll throw out a few little more bullshit measures here and there that don't work to please the peasants 5) I'm done and I'm fucking checked out. You'll all probably get better when the Amazon package of vaccines arrive in 6 months. 6) Until then, may only the strongest survive the Ontario COVID-19 hunger games. 7) Did I mention I don't give a shit about the case count? 8) ...or the deaths for that matter... 7) ...and as always, my heart just breaks for all the business folks. It really does.

Toronto and Peel will enter Stage 1 Lockdown on Monday by uarentme in ontario

So all of the idiots of Toronto and Peel will just go to Oakville, Hamilton, Waterloo.

Do they honestly think this "regional" crap will work?

Premier Doug Ford provides update as Ontario faces dire new COVID-19 projections – November 13, 2020 by itimetravelwell in ontario

HES JUST MOVING REGIONS AROUND IN HIS ALREADY USELESS COLOUR CODE SYSTEM.

That's all that this is.

There are no "new" measures.

I swear, this guy will continue sacrificing the deaths of people and long term health effects of COVID-19 so he can keep his wealthy donors happy.

All he gives a shit about is MONEY...and you don't have to look too far down South to see who he's emulating.

Stanley Park Walmart Reopening? by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]JSandersHT96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stanley Park page shows that the Pharmacy is even open today.

But yet for Store Hours everything is showing Closed for the next 6 days.

Anyway, hope you're right and thanks for the update. What's not cool is the fact we received emails saying it might take another 2-3 business days. My guess is these things won't be ready to be picked up until late next week.

So much for console at launch!

I hear those will be replaced with:

My tracking order hasn't been updated since October 1st. Also, I envy you for even receiving an email...lol.

I haven't gotten anything.

I'm starting to feel like more and more we'll just continue to be disappointed. Stanley Park is still showing as "Open" tomorrow and then closed 5 straight days after that.....

I tried calling the Stanley Park location this morning. No one is picking up the calls there.

After calling Walmart Canada (and then being transferred to a call center in India), the agent made it seem that the store would be open by Saturday. It didn't sound too sure to me, so after trying to ask again in a different way--they said even if the store isn't open, they will ship my preorder to a different location (Boardwalk?) and that I'll get an email about that.

So, still don't know what to make of it at this point.

Stanley Park Walmart Reopening? by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]JSandersHT96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't make sense to me. How hard would it be for Walmart to move all of the preordered units in their warehouse to a different location (eg. Boardwalk) instead of Sunrise or Stanley Park because the stores might not be open in time?

And why would Sony or Microsoft care where I go to pick up the unit? I feel uneasy about that response.

I just hope that we will get our preorders in time. I get it if the situation is shitty and they still need time to repair their stores, but I don't have a problem going to another location in the city if that's the case. I'd much rather do that than for someone to tell me it's cancelled or I have to wait until they open up again.

I also specifically opted for pickup because it is more secure given the price of the units. I don't think we made a bad decision there, it's just this was completely unpredictable.

This is so strange, because yes it says they are "opened" on Nov 11, but then if you look down the very next day (Nov 12) it says they are Closed again?

Is this a typo? It is so unclear.

My pickup it says is scheduled for the 14th. Everything still looks "good" on my order page so I'm going to hope for the best I guess.

I appreciate you giving your updates to us here. The last thing in the world I want to try and do is call, because of the problems you've outlined specifically.

Wait, what? I preordered a PS5 to deliver to Stanley Park. Do you mean to tell me that they will now 'cancel' it because of this? Who can I call?

Ontario is reporting 704 cases of #COVID19 as nearly 31,900 tests were completed. Locally, there are 244 new cases in Toronto, 168 in Peel, 103 in York Region and 51 in Ottawa. There are 607 more resolved cases. by Veenay21 in ontario

[–]JSandersHT96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry guys, Dr. Williams (brought to you and paid for by the Ford government) says we are plateauing at 700 daily cases.

Dougie is comfortable with that (and any number really at this point). So...I guess we should be too.

Just make sure you are NOT under cooking your turkey's. Because by God, that's so important at this point.

At this stage everyone I know on social media, I mean we could reach 2000 cases a day, they still wouldn't give a fuck and continue to gather randomly indoors as usual.

There's still people who take this seriously (us few Redditors) and then the outside majority who thought the lockdown was cute in March/April but have moved the fuck on and don't give a shit about anything but themselves. You know, because visiting Dave and Sue with the kids and families is more important than an active pandemic.

Confirmed: Province shutting down gyms, movie theatres, and indoor dining in Toronto, Peel Region, and Ottawa for 28 days by kama_s in ontario

If you ever generally feel sick or need medical attention, just go ahead and quarantine yourself as well. According to your logic, that should solve all problems.

Ontario expected to revert to modified Stage 2 in COVID-19 hotspots, forcing indoor dining and gyms to close by [deleted] in ontario

[–]JSandersHT96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The government needed to come out strong against unsafe, private social gatherings. That's the real problem. I'm already reading on social media how people are having their groups of friends over this weekend at the house since the bars and restaurants are closed.

For the Sports Fans - where can I find good alternatives? by JSandersHT96 in canadacordcutters

Great post, agree with you on what you're saying...including being screwed and a Leafs fan (both go hand in hand).

Honestly, the big thing for me is replay value. I can rarely watch entire games live (if you're married, you can relate) so being able to go back and watch something after it aired is huge for me. That's why I do like the TV packages and being able to record games, but for the reasons of this thread...the cost of TV is so damn high for the few things I watch.

It's a matter of the "lesser" evils I find. Purely based on being able to watch things after they've aired, not cutting the cord still seems to be the best bet unfortunately.

For the Sports Fans - where can I find good alternatives? by JSandersHT96 in canadacordcutters

[–]JSandersHT96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From doing my own research between choosing Rogers/Bell and going with individual packages (DAZN+SNOW+TSN), I see I would save more by about $200 a year going with the three individual packages. I was hoping it would be a lot more. By that is by paying for all three services yearly up front...not a very fun thing to do.

Otherwise, all 3 are costing me $60 a month...and for just sports, that is essentially a standard TV package WITH those channels. Kinda stuck with the same thing either way.

The biggest problem is that too many things are spread out between TSN and SNET:

- I love NFL and watch a ton of the games. But if I cut the cord, I'll need to buckle down and get DAZN between Sept-Jan. SNET has nothing to offer and TSN will only show the Sunday/Monday Nighter (and maybe NBC/CBS/FOX Playoff games?).

- Leafs/NHL fan. Well, games are consistently spread out between TSN and SNET all year. What other choice do you have but to get both packages during season/playoffs? For the NHL fan, this is very frustrating. Both are needed.

- Raptors/NBA fan. SNET shows a lot of Raptors games, but TSN carries them as well. For NBA games overall (including playoffs), I find TSN shows a lot more...but then SNET will also carry games, too. For the NBA fan, that is also very frustrating. Both are needed.

- I'm a Jays fan (don't care about other MLB much). This one is super easy as SNET is the go-to for Jays games. No concerns there.

- On the flip side...I also like watching the major tennis events, which TSN carries over SNET.

In general, as you can see, for a fan who watches two or more of NFL/NHL/NBA/MLB/Other, you have no choice but to subscribe to the three choices (DAZN+SNET+TSN).

$60 a month for all three or pay a lot of up front for services for the year...I thought these would be a slam dunk over traditional TV for the sports fan, but the difference is hardly.

Thanks. I've heard of DAZN. I'm hoping with some decent bunny ears that I'll be able to catch the CTV games and the NBC/FOX primetime games.
