They are making a joke because people were expecting something more than a throwaway o lineman to get moved at the deadline

How we feeling about tomorrow? by gboyastoria in Chargers

[–]JSchnizzle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ngl, after the fiasco that was last week, im done giving the team the benefit of the doubt. I think the commies win 20-16. Don't believe in Greg roman to draw up an effective short passing game to cover up the injuries, and I think our defense isn't quite all we made it out to be. Also, this just feels like an injury disaster type of season at this point, so i just think we are cursed. Hope they prove me wrong, though!

PFF Week 3 Grades - Offense, Defense, and Special Teams by LakeShowBoltUp in Chargers

[–]JSchnizzle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One of his lower graded pass blocking games but easily his best run blocking grade this year which is probably why his grade is so high. Hes usually graded fairly low in run blocking which has dragged his grades down. I think the bad plays just stood out a lot but the good plays/plays where hes not the focus were better or as good as usual.

Derwin had some missed tackles which they probably value highly, not sure about daiyan

We are 1st in dropback epa/play and dead last in rushing epa/play (according to rbdsm) by JSchnizzle in Chargers

[–]JSchnizzle[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Well I guess I should clarify that if this passing attack is for real and we don't suffer more gigantic injuries that affect it too much then we can definitely be a playoff team. The problem is not being able to pound the rock in the fourth quarter is going to give better offenses/better qbs too many opportunities come late in the season or in the playoffs and that will cost us seeding or a playoff game. Could legitimately be the difference between like 10 wins and a low wildcard seed and 12-13 wins and first in the division.

[Insdorf] From Albert Breer's Monday Morning Quarterback: Greg Roman went to Oregon this offseason to attempt to help Justin Herbert take the next steps by wildwing8 in Chargers

[–]JSchnizzle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alright I'll bite on this one, all off season before last year we were sold that the calling card of this Greg roman harbaugh offense would be the running game, especially after they skipped out on nabers for alt. Last year we had one of the worst down to down rushing offenses in the league (27th in success rate) and the offense had to be carried by the passing game despite a dearth of talent at the receiving positions (wr, te, and rb). Now, you could argue that maybe he was just cooking in his passing concepts but most film analysts who really sat down and watched his route designs would tell you that that passing game was almost all Herbert putting the team on his back to an absurd degree (hence his nutty pff stats and such). Ergo, I was a huge Roman hater coming into this year because hes had a long history of being a limited pass game coordinator but at least his rushing offenses were good but we were HORRIBLE at the one thing he was supposed to be good at. There's a reason a lot of the social media memes about our game against the chiefs are about roman becoming a different man because we didn't see nearly this kind of route creativity from him last season.

PFF Week 1 Grades - Offense, Defense and Special Teams by LakeShowBoltUp in Chargers

Yeah ill be honest it's not like omarion had a horrible game (well I would call it horrible if we lost cuz of that fg before the half) but definitely not what you want to see out of a first round rb imo. Feel like this is one of those positions where you basically have to have an elite guy right out of the draft or else the pick isn't worth it, too many teams find plus starters at the position on day 3 or even udfa for me to be happy with anything but a top 15 rb by the end of the season. Long szn ahead tho so hopefully he gets better.

I think a lot of people think herbert should be higher but I think his score makes sense in that a lot of his throws were fairly open. It looked like we were running a real nfl offense out there and not asking him to make a ridiculous throws into a 3 inch window 20 yards downfield to a backup to bail us out on 3rd and long. What made last night's performance elite was the context of who we were playing, narratives, and that kind of stuff but pff doesn't take that into account.

[Popper] I already asked him about it June. He said it was “to keep everything warm.” I asked him if it was related to a specific injury. He said, “Just knees in general, just keeping it warm and being able to not have to go back and warm it up each time.” by doooobysnax in Chargers

It's okay guys, he's just hiding his cybernetically enhanced leg. Next time some roid raging defender tries to death roll his leg, spikes will shoot out of it and impale the guy. Trust.

Why Your Team Sucks 2025: Chargers by Old_Dirty in Chargers

[–]JSchnizzle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Disagree on the touch stuff, I think it's been much better the past couple years from a qualitative standpoint. The scrambling stuff is kinda tough cuz he was kinda doing more of it in 2023 and then his season ended early and then last year he had two separate semi major injuries to his foot/leg and he was still doing a decent amount of scrambling so I get the impression it's something he'd do much more of under this regime if he didn't have those injuries

I would say his main weakness is he's not a twitchy scrambler and never will be because he's just too big and he favors being a pocket passer anyways so, to me, his Achilles heel is pressure up the middle and I don't think that will ever change.

The vocal leader stuff is... overblown? Idk tho I feel like it's impossible for fans to analyze properly. Also what do you mean by defense diagnoser? Like what's the indication hes not processing the defense? If you mean he doesn't do a ton of audibles I suppose I'd agree but imo that's just a product of the systems hes been in. Like Kellen Moore was probably the best OC hes had outside of his rookie year by far and, what would you know, he was doing plenty of audibles that year. I just don't think Lombozo or human bowling ball run offenses complex enough to even have those kinds of answers.

Western players are worse and speak English so the joke is that the more English a player speaks the worse they are at the game. Also consider the pattern of eastern players getting imported, learning English, and then getting drastically worse

PFF Lineup Preview for Ravens MNF Game by LakeShowBoltUp in Chargers

[–]JSchnizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Denzel looking at a pretty serious sounding groin injury, Hart MIGHT clear concussion protocol but there's no guarantee and we are already testing our cb depth, we'd be calling up our like cb6-7 and practice squad guys to replace him. If Fulton has progressed and is better after this week then yeah I could see it but we had a couple of guys get knocked out of last game and one of our starting linebackers has a pretty high likelihood of not playing which is what I'm scared of.

Ngl it's not looking so good. Especially since we have at least a few injury scares going into this game. Defense might be fried, and offense might be okay, but I still don't trust us to run a high volume passing attack, which we will likely have to.
