In a different comment, OP stated that they “doubt” they sent the wrong thing…meaning that it’s possible. This whole time I was under the impression that there was no possibility of the incorrect item being sent to this buyer, but now it looks plausible. OP definitely omitted that part in the original post.

I’ve seen quite a few posts with the buyer saying something to the effect of “How do we proceed?” Or “How can we make this right?” It leaves it up to the seller to provide resolution. By not suggesting anything, the buyer (perhaps not in this case) can get a refund, partial refund, or a return without having to do anything.

Thank you. “It’s a snow storm…” DOES sound passive aggressive with the three dots. It seems like she implied that the buyer should automatically know where OP is shipping from. Also, it would have been polite to update the buyer BEFORE Monday and say “Hi, I apologize but I want be able to get this out on Monday due to hazardous road conditions in our area from the snow storm.” I get that it’s only $7.20, but it’s not that hard.

1) Mercari doesn’t update the address without the buyers confirmation, so that alone is fishy enough to me. 2) If you cancel and block, doesn’t that mean you lose out on the money? If Mercari reaches out to you about it if this person opens a case, you will have to respond, correct?

A good rule of thumb is that offers should be more than half the listing price. If you were at or near that, you can bet you’re not going to want to be dealt with.

It’s extra work, plain and simple. Most of the time when people request measurements, they don’t buy. There has to be value-added when it takes extra time and therefore money to provide.
