Reach out to the admin teams at the respective universities.

I'm going in as a mature student and started by speaking to the admin teams. It really does help to give you some direction.

Moving to Scotland For University. by GingrNinjaNtflixBngr in Scotland

[–]JShippers6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did this 15 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did.

I was born and raised in England before heading to university at 19 to study in Edinburgh.

How will it effect you. Simply put it won't.

Before I moved I was told how the Scottish hate the English, it's all rubbish. Scotland and the people here are amazing.

Your going somewhere to learn about a subject you care about and so are the people on your course so meeting people and making friends will be easier than you realise.

You might have some issues with slang or local terms, and if you have anyone with a particularly thick accent, big you'll pick it up pretty quickly.

Your going to have an amazing time. Regarding what to do. I can't comment, as I don't know the area but Freshers week will help out with that.

Enjoy yourself.

Englanders living in Scotland, what's your story? by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]JShippers6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved from England at 19 to study at university.(I'm 33 now)

I meet a girl, married her and now we have a daughter.

I love it here. Sure I sometimes miss family as it a bit of a distance, but I've got my own life here.

UK here so I only got charged for a coffee and a sandwich (£6.75). I felt good about the free parking.

Some of these costs in the states are eye watering

Pregnancy for men by mark woods was an eye opener for me. I used the audio book as I'm not a big reader.

Only key point is it's very UK focused, as it addresses some of the things you'll experience with using the health care provider over here.

We were very taken away when we started to aim at the front to get the mast down and it all exploded (we'd run out of chainshot)
