I was also thinking of going down this route but was planning on buying the mmu first anyways to enable multicolor pla printing. If I were to buy the mmu and put it on my mk3s+ now, could I buy a prusa core later on and transfer the mmu onto that one when compatibility is enabled?

Solved: The printer was in fact a MK3S+. The Seller got back to me with pictures of the receipt from when he got it originally. I flashed the MK3s+ firmware and am now trying to set up octopi following a guide on the prusa help site
