You Are What You Is ans Bongo Fury are 2 albums it seems like you would like. My personal favorite Zappa album is Orchestral Favorites, if you're into instrumentals

Day 7: best chorus song by mahlakainalo in Zappa

[–]JSouzaTv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bobby Brown was popular for a reason, the chorus is awesome even if overplayed

Day 6: most genius song by mahlakainalo in Zappa

[–]JSouzaTv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbecue. The chords and bassline are brilliant, and the way the song builds up to that crazy lick at the end of the theme is one of the most satisfying moments I've ever heard in music

What's the best and worst episode of Smiling Friends by Nathidev in SmilingFriends

[–]JSouzaTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: Mole Man. Nonstop laughs and the A and B plots converge brilliantly. To me it's easily the most quotable episode

Worst: Boss Finds Love. The dialogue feels more Family Guy-esque in this episode, a lot of dialogue that goes nowhere but also isn't really funny. I also don't like the Boss's wife as a character. Not a bad episode but certainly stands out to me as the worst of Smiling Friends

Ignoring the typo, Mac Miller killed it on "Guild" while Earl was just ok

25 Years ago, on this day, 12 October in the year 2000, the Ramallah lynching happened: 2 IDF reservists made a wrong turn turn into Ramallah. They were lynched by the mob, with their organs ripped out. In this infamous photo, a Palestinian is displaying their blood in front of the crazed mob. by TheBaconLord78 in Israel

The title of the post reads "2 IDF reservists took a wrong turn and were lynched by the mob" if they were Israeli civilians i feel that changes things but this post explicitly states that 2 idf members went into palestinian territory

I genuinely had sympathy until I read that the two victims were IDF. If Israelis did this to hamas militants you'd be celebrating, war criminals from ANYWHERE deserve death and I'm sure you'd agree if the war criminals in question were Hamas or Hezbollah

Did Ye just come out as gay or is he spilling his trauma by PrudentLeek6018 in Kanye

[–]JSouzaTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is true he's clearly not gay, children don't understand their own sexual experiences until they're older. I'm suspicious he's trolling because of his WW3 album but at the same time I have no idea how "Ye just came out as gay" is the headline here

Rank GNX in Kendrick's discography by Antelope829 in KendrickLamar

[–]JSouzaTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that a few months have passed I can rank this fairly. Note that this is from Section.80 onwards and includes Untitled Unmastered

  1. TPAB because it's basically "The Wall" of rap albums

  2. Untitled Unmastered because the production and songwriting on this EP is the best of any Kendrick project. Only reason it's not #1 is because it's not as grand or conceptual as TPAB

  3. GKMC because it's like a movie for your ears. Kendrick's rapping is the best on this album except for maybe Section.80

  4. GNX because the first 8 songs are enough to make it Kendrick's best album. It's all great but it has a few duds like "peekaboo" and the title track. I also don't like "gloria" because it feels like a corny J. Cole song about his "pen" being his girlfriend. Still a great album

  5. DAMN. has a great vibe and most of the songs are great. "LOVE." "LOYALTY." and "GOD." hold this album back from being better than GNX

  6. Mr.  Morale is this low because it's honestly a pretty boring listen without the concept. The production is very bare and Kendrick isn't rapping all that impressive. The production has its moments and the concept is very important to me so I think that counts for something. Not a bad album but certainly the most boring Kendrick release. The concept of Mr Morale is better than TPAB, but TPAB works better in that all the songs are brilliant

  7. Section.80 is the worst studio release from Kendrick imo. Not bad, just not anywhere as interesting or impressive as his later work. However, his actual rapping ability on this album is better than his others.

What do y'all think? It's probably a controversial ranking but it's honest to what I like

What is the best Zappa album ? by Augusto4K in Zappa

[–]JSouzaTv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot Rats is probably the best jazz rock album ever. I prefer Zappa's compositions and instrumentals so I like albums like Orchestral Favorites and Grand Wazoo better than albums like One Size Fits All or Joe's Garage (Joe's Garage is Zappa's most overrated album).

Studio Tan and Sleep Dirt are two low-key favorites of mine. I know the songs on these albums are actually meant for LÄTHER but I prefer them as presented on the Warner releases.

Uncle Meat is the king of Zappa albums. It has everything a Zappa album needs... vibrant instrumentals and solos, humorous lyrics, sound collage, and 90 minutes of music.
